My shop was able to get the reverse camera working with my manual! Pictures and details to come.
That's awesome, look forward to hearing the details.
Funny how we're having to figure out how to install this product. Porsche can just have it made and feed it to the wolves to figure it all out I guess. Why trouble themselves with documenting anything or even revealing the full features of the product?!
Haven't tried that. I had asked them to put me a new set of LED fog lamps in while they had it and they said that they weren't the right size. Maybe they inadvertently did something while attempting that?
Yes sounds like they did not seat the old bulbs back in firmly enough once the new ones were not correct. - I would say to them " I had no such errors before you attempted to replace the LED fog lamps and the errors could point to issues with the LED lamps" Start there!
Anyone with the Sports Chrono going to miss the lap timer summary?!
Don't think have seen it mentioned here. I was curious to see if it would be included in the PCCM Plus and not seeing it. Took this quick picture testing it before pulling it out on a few very quick laps!
I'm curios to see a picture of what this looks like with the flat cable if you're able to share.
Regarding that error - I wouldn't think it would have anything to do with the PCCM Plus. Perhaps your stereo guy did something while installing. Would search that error message here on Rennlist and see if other threads focused on that issue.. Just guessing here but may just want to try popping the headlights out and and back in - pretty easy to do - just to see if somehow their connections got loose.
It is still at the shop so when I go tomorrow I'll pick up my car and take pics of the flat cable...but if Ryan actually has a solution for a reverse camera I may just take the picture and get the car later and get a reverse camera put in.
I believe 9 is the audio/speaker line outs at least for non-Bose systems (same as mine). It does need connected so you're good - you won't have sound without it connected.
I plug and unplug it and you’re correct. It powers the front and rear mids and tweeters. At first it confused me since other post and video’s doesn’t have the brown plug connected. Any idea why?
It normally takes around 3 days for the order to come in and then a couple of days to arrive. Hoping it’ll be here for the weekend, but more likely early next week.
@beebman. mediabox status has changed to en-route to warehouse (from “on order”). Should have it by Wednesday now I’d guess.
@dph928 thats good news. I managed to find one and it will be here today. I’ll update as soon as I test.
Amazing, fingers crossed. Be great to know if the carplay, aux and usb all work and the associated media options appear (alongside microsd and Bluetooth). If it does work even for just CarPlay that’d be a win. The box can always be hidden. Are you going to peak inside (assuming it works) to confirm it’s just connectors or if there’s anything else to the interface? Looks like it’s screwed together.

I will take a look inside to see what’s going on and how it’s wired. Hopefully it’ll work, if not I’ll look at rewiring it do it works based on what I’ve already discovered. I sourced it from a breakers, so not to bothered about opening etc.

Need someone to confirm with Bose, but I'm guessing maybe they don't have the to use the brown/#9 and instead are using the fiber connection perhaps?
Seems like if you're non-Bose, you don't need to do anything with this part of the kit that mounts on the top bracket. Everything seems to work fine on my non-Bose system with this removed:
Number 11 here you remove the gray cover and connect the fiber connection if you're on Bose for audio. But non-Bose you don't need to connect any of this - and again I believe #9 is what is feeding the amp and speakers.
This video I found speaks toward it as well and is a great reference for anyone doing this job - from removing the PCM to understanding the wiring better:
If anyone in the Los Angeles area is interested, I took it to Evolution Motorsports. Great shop with professional staff. Very reasonably priced.
Cool. Can you show a picture of how/where the rear camera was mounted? Do you by chance have a make/model of the camera used? Would be helpful to know of a confirmed one that works.
