Consolidated 991RS thread

The current Lamborghini Huracan/Audi R8 MY2016 chassis was developed by Audi and will be utilized for the next seven years in the production of those models. Porsche is not scheduled to develop the Modular Standard Platform until the early 2020's for the Lamborghini Huracan, Audi R8 & others at the VW Group. The 960/988 is coming in the next few years. It will most likely use a modified 918 Spyder chassis developed solely by Porsche for its $845K+ supercar! So don't sell it short. It will not be a warmed-over Huracan or R8! It's the next big thing from Porsche - 'The Great White Hope'. And I am sure most of you will ultimately be very impressed with it!

A little OT, but I had my first opportunity to track a 991 GT3 recently. Actually drove McLaren 12C, 458 and 991 GT3 back to back on my home circuit. The McLaren is mine, so I know it's pros/cons well. The GT3 doesn't have the straight line pace of its rivals, but in every other category it trounced them. Just not even close. I didn't want to get out of it.
I write this while eating some humble pie. My first drive of a 991 GT3 was on the street and I criticized the car for being too comfortable, large, soft, unexciting. Well...I was wrong. So very impressed with the car, and now cannot wait for the RS!

all the "drivers" are moving to 991. it's that good.
but i think for RS, espeically 4.0 will be true. 991 trade less than 997
but that's not b/c the older cars are better. it is because they are being bubble wrapped and collected.
a timex is more accurate than say a pp.
but no one collects times.
once you get to certain level, price has nothing to do with performance. in fact, often the relationship is inversed.
goto spyerx's audio room.
his vinyle and tube will produce noise that you are not accustomed to. the dirt, the worn stylus and the noisy tubes. then you have mp3 and CD clinically perfect. but the noisy tubes and vinyls will be collected and way more $$$

where can I order the ""Uncle Macca said so" T shirt"
Would love to join the "club".
Actually I think this is a good idea - we establish a "991GT3RS Club" (Macca for president ) and the T-shirt will be part of the club dress

I'm pretty sure I'd want the RS over the regular GT3, but regular GT3 is already stretching the amount of $$ I want rolling around on track.
