Top speed 3 mph slower than the 991 GT3 due to aero. (.34 CD, more frontal area)

Quoted 0-60 or 0-62 is .2 seconds quicker.
Quoted 0-124 is .5 seconds quicker.

Lithium battery option saves 30 lbs. Works to -10C, 14F. 1900 Euro.

Shouldn't the top speed be lower if you take into account the "drag" needed to force down the rear wing?

Yes, that's why the CD number went up (from .33 in the GT3). We'll see how much more downforce they were able to make with that extra drag...

I have to say I follow these anticipatory, prognosticating hyper-touting threads (this, and the related, but different, 981 GT4) with a bit of (now) bemused schadenfrude . . . . . . i.e. "the GT3RS will be getting a WHOLE NEW motor . . ., whoa to those poor, now orphaned 991GT3 adopters), . . .

". . . . This latest evolution of Porsche’s Motorsport DFI engine runs the same 12:9.1 compression ratio and 123bhp/litre as the 3.8-litre GT3, but redlines 200rpm lower at 8800rpm. . . . ."

Congrats on those who'll be able to capitalize on the, what is it <@ 5.0 second> Nordschlief delta, at +/- $40k or more price delta I am personally a bit underwhelmed.

Now it'll be interesting to see how many Porsche decides to flood the market with.

You will soon see new N-ring time of more than a 5 second difference from GT3. Maybe today.

All the RS cars will sell. Many will convince themselves it's worth it. Then, when a little voice inside tells them it's not that different to the 991 GT3, they will convince themselves it's worth it. Porsche knows, they always know. When Porsche lays an egg, it will be eaten.

I'm at a Biergarten in southern Germany right now and can tell you that there are 4-5 guys with me, who are talking about how best to get an allocation. And, these are guys who were not too fond of the 991 GT3.

LOL, awesome thanks for that.

I should go all orange for country and match my license plate! So if I don't take leather I only get the orange straps and stitching if I select black seat belts. That's doable.

I'll probably go orange with black wheels and as much black inside as possible, unless violet purple is metallic but it doesn't look like it and the colors are so far off in the configurator its a crap shoot as to how the car shows up.

400 pages and all we have is what Peter posted in the first thread.

Porsche had all his time, why not surprise us with something new?
Power, trans, etc.

feels like they developed this cars years ago, then shelved it.

Price is meh.
Colors meh.

Slightly underwhelmed.

RS has that "over the top" look the GT3 doesn't quite achieve. What the RS really needs (and the GT3 as well) is an engine that finds its way into motorsport. I will speak to my SA about trading the 3 for the RS but I'm not paying over MSRP.

Is there an EVO video yet? or any interview with Preuninger?
Also, any actual pics from Geneva?

LOL...it's true!

Probably because that is exactly what happened.
