Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Nice work everyone. Sorry to hear Chris - and especially Matt - didn't get to drive the event out. Good on you for getting out there and it happens to the best sometimes.

Hey - we are onto page 911 !!!!!
Loving the pic's Walter.
Question - Is grid 1 at HD on the Pit side or the Apt side of the track. I am guessing the pit side, but don't know for sure??

I've just been looking at getting a Necksgen and have been told that if I can get at least 3 people together to buy them we can get them for $799 (including gst) each. This is here in Auckland so you can go in and try them on to ensure they fit properly etc. and they have all sizes in stock.
Let me know if you are interested. I will be buying one before the enduro in a few weeks.

They're happy to match that same group buy pricing for anyone here else who may want a head and neck restraint system that works very well with a harness (SFI 38.1 certified) but also looks to still be of some use with a factory 3-point belt.

I love him. Took a bit of a drive out to piha. Interesting dynamic when the car goes over smallish rises into troughs. The front end feels very light. Manageable but surprising. Possibly too much rebound damping? Or just a characteristic of a rear engined car?
My wife (who couldn't car less about cars) once driven it, adores it. So a big win there. She originally questioned me buying another car but know thinks it was a great idea.
I'm having MS sort the seals in the diff. I was going to do it myself but its a bugger of a job getting the torque tube off and managing the subframe by myself in a small garage made me leave it to the pros
I have to sort my avatar out

They have been racing with three piece for 30 years. I think they may even still do it. Not for weight but strength and ability to repair and reuse the centres (cost). A cast wheel is hopeless it it take a bad bend on a chicane - you cant easily repair it without compromising its strength. A forged wheel is lighter and more expensive. It can be reshaped but of its a big hit the whole wheel is all over (throw away). A three piece means you can throw away you outer hoop keep the barrel and the centre, reform the inner barrel lip on a machine if required, bolt on the hoop and you have a perfect wheel again. On the track the weight isnt so important due to handicapping. Unsprung mass yes. I think until very recently there were few realistic and feasible alternatives.

Yes, we talk of taking it easy, but it's so hard to actually do. The talk goes out the window on the day. I just hope it is fine. I like it in the wet but the risks of getting it wrong and being uninsured at the same time go up heaps too.
