John: some of you guys used to drain so much out for the morning water check you nearly had to get the machine refuelled!
Three smells have strong positives: Burning JetA1 is definitelty one of them (964 leather and hot Mobil 1 are the others).

When starting up the Skyhawks we had to run the small jet engine apu. The sound of the bangers and the start sequence is etched in my mind. As is running around the aircraft very close to the exhaust.

I never worked with avgas, but am familiar with the water in fuel check so wouldn't discount a 'zealous' approach which led to 'waste' . Blame it on the mechs. We avionic boys were a different breed

Thanks Jason. I agree, but we dont have real choppers here (44s/66s - no 22s!). Looks like its stated as 100 MON. Theres leaded and low lead (not sure it will make any difference for the 993 which was built for leaded fuel). Ill give John Currie a call tonight on wider availability in Southland, although I suspect most of his fleet of Bells are JetA1.

Teretonga Park advertise Southern Wings for Avgas on the front page of their site. You just need to present your Motorsports license. It was also the first recommendation Tony at Playdays made so it cant be that illegal. I suspect they add the tax back in and its $3 a litre!

Doug. You can run 95 as Matt says no problem. Be fine for touring I should think but may retard ignition once the temps get up on track. Will be the same for the 997TT, 997TTS and 991 GT3 running in our group. You cant bail out on the 964 guy(s) now!

Awesome car and spec. Love the R Gruppe history. Pricey!

A mate has offered me use of a 1997 Chrysler Voyager 3.3 Petrol as a tow vehicle. They use it as a workshop vehicle so its had a rough life - they'd take the seats out for me. Anyone know these and how many sets of rims would fit with all the rear seats removed? Only need to take 3 sets.

It would be thirsty to run but only beer money to hire, same as the trailer.

Plenty of room in the Voyager for 3 sets of wheels Pete. Without the rears more space than in Rodeo tray which would have only fitted two. Not sure on the towing capacity of the Voyager but it will be fine for around 70-80kmph flat out I suspect...

Do you have a new ETA on the Cayman? Is it on a boat yet?

Doug, we have Cape Reinga to Bluff decals!

Don't imagine the Fat Boy Slim and Riva Starr inspired phrase is up your alley. I'm going to use that as a base for all of the track decals Matt sourced.

I found this on the Ruapuna site and thought it looked interesting. Its probably the next stage on from RSG. I wonder if something like this could take off in NI...

Thanks. The "Cape Reinga to Bluff" one is obvious.

"Eat sleep rave repeat" was on George FM so many times it stuck in my head. Call it creative beach-combing with some changes.

It's definitely sounding better if I can run 95 most of the time. What's the effect of retarded ignition on track? If it just makes it a bit under powered but isnt bad for the engine then it would give John the advantage he needs. Esp if he runs pure avgas LOL. I'll pick you tech dude's brains once you've sorted a plan to figure out what I'll do. I'm not an engineer which seems a disadvantage in these parts.

pretty awesome lap time for the 991gt3 given the machinery listed there.

Macca maybe you should have shipped your car to Uk for a flip at premium then go again with an RS?

I have my pre SITT t shirt sorted. 3 of the same design so all of the photos are concurrent. Would like one with the map you did
