Awesome!
What dealer are those photos from?
I love the white 5 speed 930.
Next to the widebody red Speedster looks like a red 959?

Also what does IB's stand for?

You should! Would be an honor to run the 997 alongside it (assuming I'm back in time to make the Cape portion of the tour).

Have seen one 996T and a Cayenne over the last two days. So that makes three P cars total over three days. Feeling deprived.

You would be welcome Jake. I washed her flanks last night and took her for a run around the bays to dry off. She feels like she could dispatch a Continent in a day so would deal well with a 1,000 km journey.

Impact bumpers...

Great photo collection Paul. That white 930 was the car on my wall growing up - perfection.

Matt. Im 100% keen (but probably unlikely to be around for it). I need alot of work at Taupo as I have a firm idea where I would like to be on that track.

Its definitely part of our North island Track Tour feature so we will be heading down your way in September. March is tough for most so you may have to look at April or May....

Too true. I think we were neck to neck there. Ahhh but you have a 993 now and a gazzillion more hours on the track than me so I expect you to show me what can be done! The 993 should be getting 1.46-1.48 there with a good driver I reckon. No pressure now.....LOL!

Will be interesting to see how the 993 goes on the SITT. It has much better brakes than my C3, but I don't think it is quicker until you get over 120-130 kph and the torque starts to lick in. I'd say they would be a dead heat up to about 150kph - at which point the 993 would smoke the old girl........

Very tempted to do it on a set of 221's (the red mist sets in)

It will all depend on whether I can get my PSS10's in time, no stock until end of Feb...????

Macca - we should be more concerned about Pete (320hp and mid engined) - we will need 221's to level the playing field............

If I can pull off this live mapping in NZ, are you keen to have a go (or just happy to leave car as is.......)

I agree. Petes going to be very competitive in the Cayman S. They are very good cars and can be pedalled quickly. The SITT will be a great place to get to know your 993. Id say take Z221 but my primary concern is they could accelerate unknown "lifed" components to the point where they cause you issues during the trip, where as road tyres will keep lateral Gs in check and may not put as much undue stress on those items. I noticed this after I put R compound on tehcar the first time (NITT) immediately afterwards Dean reported I needed new rear toe arms and prior the event they were still fine...

PSS10s on backorder is odd, but then so was Big Red TT front callipers when I finally came to order them after 10 years of drooloing over them (not to mention the price has gone up 70% in that time!). They are still showing March, way to late for SITT. Lets hope your shocks can make it in by end of Feb latest....

Yes 100% agreed Macca - I just want all our cars to make it............

Garry from PN and CGT man from Napier and new dude from Rotorua - keen???
Sounds great, I'm in.

On that topic, there's another Taupo day coming up on the 11th April: http://www.gpforums.co.nz/threads/47...014-11th-April

Cheers

A CGT at CCS!? I'm definitely going to check it out.

Agree. Road tyres are a sensible option if your suspension isn't sorted the way you want it and you are concerned about making it the whole way in one car.

Now, when was that group Turbo ECU flash scheduled and will my Z221s last the whole journey....
