My dad's first Pcar was a 73 911E targa in orange.

I think this photo is 1985 with my sister and I behind the wheel

Cool photo!! You scored the drivers seat then - no surprise.

Any news on the Turbo? Tony told us he had test driven Mr. Black. Are you still going to do the occasional track day?
Last I heard it was the fuel pump but awaiting parts. Might know more once Peter B is back to work this week.
Will always remain keen to attend track days.

You got it Doug. You will be doing a longhood soon, money on that. I went to HD yesterday as a spectator and had a great day. Very lucky to get taken out in Steve's early Gulf car, then the 964 version. The early car was lovely, the 964 was a brute. I could have gone around all day in the oldy and it was quite fast. The 964 I was happy to get out of! It was on another level. Then, a chap whom I've never met turns up in an old T and lets me take that for a drive. How about that? Impressions? Steve's white RS rep was a blast, set up quite firm and has done a few miles so is a bit bang crash but its a workhorse. The LHD thing and 915 box with Carrera power sets it apart. The early Gulf car (as a passenger) made me giggle a bit. It is so small and light and darty and Steve was a master on the controls to get the best from it. The T was quite soft no doubt because of the springy seats and the road setup. Lovely as is with more power than standard. The vision for a longhood has formed for my new project over the holidays and its time to crack into it.
Glad to hear all is on track and very cool to get a drive of Kevin's T. You need to do all that driving to settle on what you want. Looking forward to the 'build thread.' When does Steve start lifting a spanner??

A collage of vignettes from yesterday. Note Dave has a camo cap wearing accomplice! Also note my front wheel lifting on turn 9 - it makes a noise when it hits the Tarmac

some big decisions, new toys brewing so the next 12 months are going to be really interesting with some big track tours, targa etc

Paul. That C4 looks good. Pricey but good. First time Ive been on TM for 3 months....

Love the Old Skool photos mate. With a dad owning that kind of metal there was simply no chance for you mate. At least with Coirtinas in the family there was plenty of room for me to side step into an upgrade, but for you and Nik on here no chance at all!

You are absolutely correct. Yesterday I was asked how much weight I'd taken out of my car. An increase in pace doesn't go unnoticed in this group. The interesting aspect will be where we end up.

I agree with Doug, an endless number of track days with no close driving wears thin, but it's also attractive in the Gruppe to know that rubbing isn't a risk. How we mix those two will be interesting. I suspect many decisions won't survive the year e.g. Fast road cars being left as solely DDs.

John, did you get any other footage of Nigel's GT3? Curious how it sounds with the new exhaust.

Looking forward to Puke on the 27th, determined not to miss this one!

Ok. Ive had enough of TM now. Must say that there are alot (10+) of 964 still on the market especially when compared to 993 (1 red tipo). Looks like they are a definitely choice for anyone wanting to rally or track. A few race cars ready to go on there for John and others when the time comes to get serious, some 3.3 & 3.6 turbos and C4 road cars...

Doug, I understand you comment about HD. I dont have this issue. Infact by year end Ill have far more experience at Taupo and South Island tracks (visit twice with the Targa) than HD. I dont think Ill get to HD this year but Im planning a return in 2015.

Have you thought about running the track in reverse? This is common practice to shake things up and I think they even did in Bridgestone. Its amazing how difficult the track becomes when you reverse the direction! Expect the fastest times to be at least 2-3 seconds off the clockwise times....Im sure Playdays would work with it if you arrange prior....
