Hi John, thanks for that. I am involved a little with the Bridgestone Porsche series and am keen to see more people out there join the racing, especially classes C, B & A. In these current times its not easy.

Well I took the plunge today and bought the aforementioned Maritime Blue 3.3 Turbo. Peter Booth spent three hours with it this morning and reckons it's pretty damn mint. Just a few things to sort ie full service, aircon (which can wait), reflector (later) and knock a couple of very minor dings out of a door. Thanks John and Sean for your counsel. Chuffed.
So any kiwis looking for a nice black 90C4, sing out.

Great move on the 3.3 Blue Turbo!
I knew that car when it came into NZ back in 2001 via Jerry Clayton. I recall it was a lovely looking machine. I chased it up with the TM vendor who seems to have owned it now 11 years and only added 9000km! In the end it wasn't for me but it looked really good on paper and had its engine sent back in 1993 to the factory for the X33 upgrade to 360+bhp. Brilliant. Id say with a good "big service" and anything that picks up plus those small jobs sorted then for under $80k you have a great low mileage and original classic turbo!
Come join us on the Targa Tour in October. It would be a great place to get a feel for the car...

Thanks guys. I am really pleased with it. Will see how I go learning to handle that horsepower and RWD at HDs this Sunday before I commit to Targa. Still keen on that beer before the summer has gone. Perhaps when Sean is back later this month and we can check out his result too.

Great buy and good luck with the settling in period. There will likely be small things but they are unlikely to be mission critical. We'll see you on the 964 Turbo forum amd hopefully some day in person. With that rare colour I'll know who it is!

The joys of custom kit.
Mind you, if it's not ready I can take a cab and drink more!!

Sean. Everything will come together. FVD product is usually excellent, that is the main thing. As for the work you're having done, as is often the case there is always stuff you may as well have done "while you are in there". Im sure it will look stunning when its finished and at least you know its done right with no corners cut. I believe Steve did the blue LHD 964 race car (with trailer) on TM. That's a very nice piece of kit (engine too!) so if yours looks as good (which ut should do) you'll be well happy. And yours is RHD road registered as well...

To be fair the issue isn't FVD but the guys that do their carbon work holding them up. I just thought that after all these years they wouldn't have those issues. Mind you, they're not off the shelf so I'll take a chill pill.
It won't be in a concours show but it will be one of the better RS replicas on the road I hope. That blue car is a stunner, while mine won't be as race orientated inside it will definitely be up there. There's some nice Targa touches being done too.
I've already got an itch for the engine work but it's got life in it so will just have to be very patient there!
Time for a beer!

Thanks. I woke up to pouring rain and decided discretion was the better part of valour and elected to take the lesser hp/double traction option. As it turned out only the first session was a bit damp and a good day had. Will give it a crack at the session Sun week (WP).
