You need an importer number and to satisfy NZ Customs they comply with NZ requirements etc. Another advantage of importing them is you will likely find exactly what you want...

I got a freight quote on 17" versions of these from tire rack in July which was $213 to freight a pair. I only needed two at the time then sold the car so didn't go ahead. I assume this is USD. The freight is quite high for tyres IMO. BTW they can't supply toyo R888s to NZ due to distribution rules.

Macca,
You need this to take on Sean (i thought the price seems quite reasonable given all the fruit on the car??)

Doug, don't know whether you are planing on driving through Oamaru during the SITT but if so could I recommend a stop there. An old friend, just retired, owns Tempero Motor Bodies. They hand craft replicas of all the interesting cars made. C type D type jags. Ferraris etc. etc. I have fond memories of being picked up byErrol Tempero in the "Demo" D type and driving iron a balmy summer evening around the back roads at 120+ MPH. Fantastic feeling with the wind in the hair driving flat out. Anyway, if you do I will endeavour. To get the SITT group a tour through the facility - no one will be disappointed. Besides that you can place orders foe alloy body panels for your 'babies.

Belated congratulations, and what a cute kid. The first month or three are like a protracted civil defense emergency, but it is so worth it. Hope you're all managing to stay on top of the waves after that rough start!
