If you are looking at tyre prices I have some comparisons for you below. I have just ordered a new tyre from a recent puncture via Design 911. Prices for a single Michelin 255/40/ZR/17 Pilot Sport PS2 N3. All prices NZD delivered in NZ. NZ (Giltrap) $690 US (TireRack) $510 (+ possible gst) UK (Design 911) $445. (+ possible gst) Thanks for those who suggested the overseas contacts.

Thanks to whoever pointed me to the race jack. It's a work of art. It also goes well with my jack pads.
I bought four of these for $22 each landed. However I can't see myself using more than two at once. Anyone want one or both of the other two at cost? They lock into the 911 jacking point and I've added a rubber sheet to the bottom so it's rubber on rubber at the jack end.

I just priced up a full set of 18" Michelin Super Sport tyres (I believe these are now the best riad tyres from Michelin, they are a fairly new product) in 18" 235/275 fittings for $924 USD at Tiretrack before shipping and GST. Id imagine that's a 3200 NZD set of tyres in NZ!

Thanks John. Will do that this weekend. Car will be around next week getting geo sorted so all good to drop off with Dean and have him leave in the glove box....

Dave. I think you must have been. The turbo lost a few seconds on the day, some young guy with a camo cap seen sitting in the drivers seat in the pits a wee while before racing could have been to blame....LOL

Yep, would have been me. Those were the great days of Porsche club racing. The porsche club LeMans relay races were fantastic. I did anything I could to get to Pukekohe to see them. It was at the end of one of those days that Oli Newbegin beckoned me over randomly and gave me a ride around Puke in his white / green RS. First ride in a Porsche and it was an RS. How can you top that?

John. I didn't really want to say anything here, but I spent some time with Oli at the Rennsport Weekend in Sydney and I recall him saying in passing he gave up racing shortly after that RS. He just couldn't get any faster in that car....Mmmmm....

The 2 seconds will make an appearance off my lap times anytime soon. Just waiting for the right moment. Could be next weekend. In fact I'll be bummed if I don't see them because it will be my first time at HD on sticky tyres, Sorted brakes and a sweet running 964. The full package.

On another point, I've run the C4 and 996 TT with the Tomtom. Both speedos are 7km/hr faster than the Tomtom readout, at an indicated 100km/hr. Given GPS is accurate, I've taken a note to myself not try and watch the speedo in the sweeper. If you look at Peter's data and Nigel's YouTube lap, you need to run at 100km/hr around the sweeper to have a worthwhile lap. The section through turns 3 to 9 is a lot closer between the cars.
