Hey mate. I'd absolutely love to mate but just have no idea if I could afford to.

Once upon a time trading was predictable but now things are so up and down. I know I am being cautious but after going through two years of nearly losing everything bar my shirt I'm playing things safe as much as possible. Get in a better position and then go hard.

If the spot was still their a month out I could make a decision but I doubt you'll have trouble filling the spot There's certainly no lack of "want" to go!!

I understand Jamie. The spot will likely be available a little longer and the event doesn't take place until March. You are much closer to the SI than the rest of us and the cost of all the tracks is only $1000. The other costs are accommodation (we intend to rent a house or two in QWNT and share it to keep costs down) and fuel. Given you missed out on NITT maybe its karma.....email me if you decide to take the leap....be good to have you on board.....

Its half the money and half the time away from work. I've secured a couple of profitable supply contracts which we are a few months into and I've had a new production manager start two weeks ago so if that's all going well and I have the confidence that I can take that long off work I'll do it. Normally time away from work wasn't such and issue but we've delved into new territory... here's hoping!

Hi Guys
best laid plans, I was going to try for the 15th, but got two new faults pop up at once, rear spoiler indicator and oil pressure sender fault
Questions, post servicing
NZD$1400 for new spoiler ram..who best for after market or import
Oil sender only $260 plus.. apparently a common fault..ok when giving it the curry, but comes on and off when just tootling.
Went on Matakohe fun run yesterday with PCC.. just ignored oil and OK the spoiler failure....
awesome museum..
Met a newby with a 997 who wants new tyres, what was the guy in Ak who is helpful and deserves our trade..went back over the thread but lost it

John, cant believe you are moving the 996TT
the classic bug has truly bitten !!

Pretty sure we covered it off here a while back. Originally form HK. Straight car was in exceptional condition when imported but haven't seen it since then..

For that kind of money, I'd be pricing up a GT2 wing (or replica). One time fix that way, the spoiler hydraulic system is known for failing frequently.

Or DIY options:

Took the 64 for a good blast yesterday. Looks like it is back in rude health. It has the top end pull that reminded me of my varioram 993. There's the two seconds.

I must have been out as I didn't hear you come past! Good to hear it's all good now, and that you've mounted Macca's wheels.

Hopefully my jack will arrive this week and I can look at fitting the frankensteins between track days. Too much of a hassle when using sissor jack.

It hasn't happened yet! "There are many slips between cup and lip"

I drove her to the Tron last week and again this morning. Perfect for that, but my expected usage is at the track and sunny Sunday drives. The similarities in driving the 964 and Turbo 3.6 make it easier to keep both. I just don't need 3 cars for my usage. The 996TT is great for DD, but it's possible to have the other cars take that role on.

Yes, I quite like the cup 2's. Even though they are the correct 55mm offset, they still needed the 21mm adapters on the back to beef them out a bit.

Fuchs are the same offset but I went with 6.5mm spacers on the rear to avoid the cost of the bigger spacers.

It's all starting to add up so I won't buy overseas if the order exceeds NZD 380 to avoid the $100 kicker from GST and Customs clearance fee. The last order was getting too close.
