Hi guys. Family safe. 993 (touch wood) as at today still safe. Other car in the garage was shunted into the wall by the force. House contents everywhere. Most internal plaster is destroyed (after only cracking in September) but (fingers crossed) house is strucutrally sound.
I'm in Sumner which you have possible seen is on the news a bit due to the cliffs cracking and rock falls. We should be safe from that but right now it is anyone's guess.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Cheers
Andrew

Sorry cant help on the tyres. IMHO Id never pay $1400 for a pair of front tyres. I got a full set of 225/265 18 RE11 (Bridgestones flagship performance tire) for not much more new and fitted! Perhaps you should consider that route?
While we are on the subject of for sale. I have OBD1 scanner full set never used includes 19 pin adaptor for 964 (unit will work on all 993/964 up until 1996) - fully built up and bought off the 964 group buy a few years back. Awesome for home mechanic, to see whats going on and diagnose faults or to reset codes. For sale for what I paid for it if anyone is interested PM me before I put it on rennlist...pics below - comeples complete with software, instructions and case as below...

NZ911,
Good to know everyone is safe. I guess the "getting back to normal" has started. Hopefully the family has settled down and isn't to affected by the trauma.
Cheers,
Nick

Sunday blast....
Last Sunday we did a run from Deus Ex Machina (a very interesting cafe) in the CBD to Allely House near Kumeu. All this via some backroads with additional "tasks" that needed to be done on the route. Apparently this required some good communication between driver and navigator..............no divorces yet!

How is the club racing on the South Island? I've been contacted about a job in Dunedin and won't reply until I learn about the racing scene

Dude. You out to be more worried about living in Dunedin than worrying about a race circuit LOL! I dont even know if they cars down there, just poor students.
Try this: http://theracingline.net/racingcircu...d/Dunedin.html
Maybe covered with grass now :-)

Tim. Have a look at www.canterburycarclub.co.nz and specifically at the Rennsport series. Plenty of Porsches racing in there. Ruapuna is about a 5 hour trailer from Dunedin. Timaru circuit is about 2 1/2 hours and Teretonga in Invercargill is about the same.
The Southern Festival of Speed has run a Dunedin street race in the past. My understanding is that it has not been held for the past few years due to the cost of compliance with MotorSport NZ safety requirements. The armco is largely still in place so you never know.....

Will be flying over there for it with bells on!
The 993 project will be finished by the end of the year (after almost 2 years work) so what better way to try the new Cams and engine make over than the Taupo DE and the Motorkarna a few days later!
Id would be great to meet other on this board in person also....
Cheers
