Great to hear it starts.

One step closer to career from money man to mechanic...
There is a big difference between spannering for pleasure and for a living. I am inexperienced, slow, disorganised and prone to going off on tangents. Basically I’m playing and the current options out there for fixing your car aren’t going to change anytime soon.

What I am though is passionate about the Marque and happy to share my experience and tools, as are many others on this board e.g. this week I walked down to Dave’s to pillage his Aluminium stocks for a bracket. Let’s not forget the effort he made with the valve covers, either.

Great to see Herman looking (better than) himself again John, and ready for the beach.

Will be interested in the body care guide Warwick, even if perhaps too lazy/busy to run with a chunk of it. Mine just gets a fair wash and Meguiars TechWax every month or two, as well as before and after events. Plus the odd wheel touch up.

Ideally qualified then. Sadly though, that does describe a few mechanics out there (outside our Porsche world).

Unbelievable. These guys are being charged out at full retail per hour at places like CCS at what a business consultant charged a decade ago...

You would probably enjoy the chance to be there
Yeah, bit of a bugger that. Will listen out Ch 1 and maybe see you out there.

Yes, that bracket is the key to unlocking that 20bhp.

Yes true - but they let you supply your own parts with no mark up, and that fancy building in New Market doesn't come for free - so you can't really complain too much.

Consultants are now $150-300hr.

P.s. - can't believe I am defending a mechanics charge out rates

I'm figuring consultants with Multiple Porsches are at the upper end of that scale?
