MW's own FB post says 2,366lb dry weight. Whichever it is it's light with a 300hp donk in it.

Sure. The part is less than 2K landed but the panel and paint work to graft that onto the car and get it LVVC would be very high in my opinion. You would then need to line it etc.

The removable hardtops come up from time to time used for 3-4K USD. They are rare and can easily be sold again for the same money. You still have a completely original C4 Cab (rare car in its own).

If someone wanting a cheap 964 got a line on the hood they would be mad not to buy it with the view of picking up a manual Cab in the future as these seem to command less money...

No its my bad. I converted then made a mistake thinking 1175 not 1075.

Its BS at 1075. Must be a mistake. You cant make a 964 that light unless your name is Robert Linton and you own a company called Cartridge. Last time I spoke with Robert direct he estimated the weight of his $1MM 964 Americana at 1050kg heading to target weight under 1000. Even Steve struggled to get his 964 gulf race car where it is. Its a race car too so doesnt need headlights etc. Seans is around 1250kg currently. Id be very surprised if Magnus car is under 1250 wet myself.

Agree, something's not right there.

I think I can get Herman to 1,350kg wet with an air-con delete (Doug's is on the fritz again so remain unconvinced this is a worthwhile item), heater bypass and lighter battery. That includes the harness bar and harness, so maybe 1,345kg is possible although I wouldn't track without them. After that I need to get lighter body panels etc.

can't seem to find the figures for weights, there must be another couple kgs penalty for the cab version with strengthened chassis to account for the lack of hardtop.

I struggle to get below 1330kg wet with full tank of gas. That's with sunroof, air con, full noise insulation/carpet, air con, radio & speakers and includes 18kg Heigo half cage, rear wiper etc. I have a plan to get to 1295kg when I do the next cosmetic refurb in 4-5 years time. In the meantime I will work on sorting out the handling and power. Getting below 1250 in a 964C2/993C2 is really hard and almost always requires composite panels.

There is. It may be as much as 50-70kg buy from what I understand removing the hood, its motors and associated gear more than makes up for the weight of the hard top...Its actually possible that with the hard top and the strut brace the car could end up MORE structurally rigid than the coupe!

Given I have 100kg of C4 drivetrain on top of the C2 weight I would wonder about Herman's weight if I hadn't done it a weigh station. I will weigh him again after the build.

Yeah. I used race scales during my build on three occasions (photographed each time).

You have jettisoned alot more than I have (Ive actually added auto wipers, auto driver door window actuator, gold class head unit, larger speakers, dimming rear mirror, Trackit IT device with GPS receiver, bigger brakes, thicker adjustable sway bars, turbo front bumper, half cage etc). With all added came to 1445kg. I then stripped 115kg using CF underbody panels, CFdoor cards, CF heater bypass, cat removal, lightweight wheels, bucket seats, rear seat back and belt removal, airbox removal, LWFC, lightweight AGM battery etc).

The easier stuff I have left is around 30kg. Under carpet insulation and rear wiper motor. I dont want to loose a/c, radio or practical stuff. The car still needs to take my wife and I on 1000km+ road trips annually.

the expensive stuff is around 80kg and includes sunroof delete, alloy hood and alloy doors (factory), thin side/rear glass.

The a/c full system worth around 20kg.

So there is 130kg on the table to take it to 1200kg but the outlay is estimated at $40000 to achieve this.

I think I will just stick with rear motor wiper, removal factory sound deadening replace with lighter modern sound matt and rear RS carpet set and put the original bumper back on for around 35kg savings. Unfortunately I have plans to add additional oil cooler and transmission cooler with engine upgrade so with hardware and fluids will be +13kg again. The only place I can easily find that 13kg is alloy RS hood (4k) and to do rear RS glass with wiper out job as well as remove last vestages of old headlight washer system (bottle is out but not fittings and hoses). All these jobs above come in (with oil coolers x 2 etc) at around 15+K with labour, paint etc.

Gets expensive aye.

If you are at 1350 and have 100kg extra on board for C4 then you are already at 1250 which is same weight as Seans ex race car with full cage (but pretty gutted interior and sunroof rear wiper delete etc). Thats very good.

If you are at 1350 with 260 bhp I think you should easily be in 18s at HD once you get back out there.

I think I've done this before.

Taken out or changed:
Light weight seats
Cup pipe
Ducktail
Seat backs delete
Light weight flywheel
Spare wheel and tool kit
Frunk carpet
Filter and barn door AFM change for carbon fibre intake and mass sensor
Light weight wheels

Added:
Harness bar
Harness straps
Strut brace

Gutting the cat might release a couple of kg. I'm also mulling over custom door cards. Something in DIY carbon fibre but I want to retain some type of rest and pocket so need to think hard about the design. The heater delete appeals but again I want to fabricate that myself. I think I need to vacuum bag that shape. Maybe something for next year. A functioning car for the Porsche Festival is a better priority.

Guys - if you are planning on entering festival events can I ask you to enter NOW please.

Entires are coming in slower than desired at the moment.

I would strongly suggest you all consider entering at least the Porsche Trials - circulating at speed with 48 other Porches will be a lot of fun.

Just got off my **** and entered the trials. Practice, qualifying and two races per day is good value for $370. Seeing who you can tempt to black flag themselves is priceless
