Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Re tyres, am currently running std size ( 255 40 zr17 ) Bridgestone SO2-A rears (N rated), will soon need replacements. Fronts are non matching (re 002, not "n") 205 50 r 17 with plenty life. Road driven.
...
Anyway need new tyre recommendation ( have been happy enough with so2-a), where to buy without afterwards feeling I've been taken over a barrel without vaseline.
Cheers

Otherwise in that price range, Dunlop Direzza II's or if after something almost as fast in the dry, but harder wearing and probably faster in the wet, Sumitomo HTRZIIIs. The Sumis are best kept to roads or wet tracks though - at race pace on a dry track doing more than 5 or 6 laps at a time with PSM defeated sees them chunk up after a session or two. The exchange rate probably favours locally sourced tyres anyway just now.
Your car sounded awesome Pel.
Here's a view from the top!
Should make a good beer drinking deck.
I hear HD membership will be $10K joining and $4K p/a, add $4k p/a to rent a garage. This buys you 20 track days and access to the club rooms.
Enjoy the cheap days while you can..........

Bit of a ball tearer Phil to be honest. Nice enough reach to Takatu Pt then the fleet bomb burst when it came on the beak. Some went right looking for stronger breeze and hoping for a shift right (it went left), we went left staying in the flat water and got a nice lift up Bream Bay. Then it was hammer and tong with a #3 and a slab in the main in 25G35 for the next 18hrs to the Brett which we rounded about 0900, eased sheets and slid across the line at 1120. Pretty happy with our time, 7th in div and 2nd Farr 38 home (not my E1050). I think 2/3rds of the fleet either didn't start or retired.
It's a bl++dy good event I do each year with the same bunch of mates. But there were several hours on the rail wondering WTF?

I used to do it every year too. until the liver gave out..!!
Come on Macca..surely you sailed a P as a Lad
Yes, one of the benefits of having an old car with shopping trolly size wheels. Another benefit is that they might last a few seasons. I might, but I do enjoy my ten year old tyres, get a set for the SC if Dunlop Motorsport have them in the size and can be as generous as they have been today.
I suspect that 2k cup is going to become even more popular as I doubt the Quinns will sell premium weekend days to the great unwashed and it makes no sense to have a product competing with a membership so racing will be the best way to get track time. Mind you thats $300 a meet.
Only two and a half weeks until the big reveal, right Dave?
Obviously not ideal, Not sure what a membership costs at high end golf clubs but I'm guessing the joining fee is along the same dollars? Once joined it's $200 per session, running 20x track days to get your moneys worth will blow running costs outta the water.
Taupo roadies then, perhaps the RSG guys group buy a Taupo commercial premises, 750 sqm car storage, open plan living, pool table, couple of hoists....

I have to confess Im not a real sailor (Im sure you guessed). I prefer when we are under motor so my G&T doesn't get spilled, I dont have to walk sideways to the galley for a "slab" and I hate cooking using a gimble stove holding onto the bench top to stay upright....:-)
Hey Jake. You did ok I just paid $3300 last week for my MPSC2 for the GT3 for SITT! Simply no other choice for 20" 991 GT3 rims (other than Trofeo R which wear quicker at the same price!).
What a joke when Dave can buy a full set of tyres for 1/5th of the cost! That said even the 993 costs $2000 for any decent track day rubber on 18s.
The faster you want to go the more it costs!
Pel - car looks great in teh pictures. Stance is spot on I reckon. The Amazon green 964 & Nats slate grey car look lovely too on their 18 rims.
Paul. I have forecast this outcome a while back as you know. Personally, if I lived in NZ I would consider paying $4K for 20 track days pa for a year or two. I could do with some more laps like that at HD to catch up with you! That said I dont think I could pay the $10K membership - mostly because after a year or two doing 20 days at HD a year Id be a bit bored with it all I reckon...
The writing is definitely on the wall. I believe by Nov 2016 things will have changed radically. I think Playdays will struggle to survive at HD with the new demands and pricing structure. I really hope Im wrong.
Pels idea about Taupo is a good one. We may have to make it our new track home!

Im not sure Quinn will want 2K cup cars at HD once the track is completed?
In reality I think it will be cheaper to go racing moving forward than being an HD member running a GT3 20 days a year?
