Ah that explains the difference. I've measure from the front crossmember bolt head at the front and the cast boss on the rear trailing arm

See this link for some good pics https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...o-measure.html

here's a pic from the Bentley Book

That's a road geo Jamie. Seems a lot more rear than front camber. Im not sure how far the factory top mounts will allow but id be inclined to increase front camber a tad next time you have it done. Se how your tyre wear goes first...

Fascinating indeed. Even the front toe varies between 1.2mm total in for the Michelins to 1.2mm total out for the Goodyears. And it's interesting that the front-rear camber difference increases as camber reduces. Though I wouldn't put too much weight on the projection from the chart below, I do know at least some people run a full degree of difference on their 911 track car:

I'll weigh the incumbent and see what the loss is. But you are right prob 10-12 kg. Cost was $239 with Porsche club discount. Local supplier. Phone at 3 yesterday. Arrived this morning

Walt the Goodyear seems to be an outlier. It may be a wet tyre. Notice how the ground clearance changes too as well as the rake for each set up? The rear is especially high for the Goodyear.

Must remember to that the 993 GT3/EVO has anti squat rear subframe mounts (removed Weissach effect). Paul and I had those fitted too. Makes performance on the limit more predictable (i.e. geo stays static not changing all the time). I had a modified "tilt kit" and Paul had the stock angled solid shims. The tilt kit was designed for high HP applications such as 993 GT2. I reduced the tilt and reduced the anti squat as my car isnt making any more than factory power, but there is still a little anti squat built in which I thought may be useful if/when future NA engine upgrade to 3.9L etc.

Warwick. Well done! I would definitely go this way if I were doing it again and had access to power for a trickle charger in storage, I erred on the side of caution with the larger battery for heavier loads. Its a decent weight saving for a total outlay including bracket of probably $450 NZD all in so at $4.50 per KG cost to lighten must be the cheapest KG/$$ there is in the car (apart from throwing the passenger seats out aka John McM LOL)!

You mean roughly $45/kg? But it sits fairly high in the car so is still nice to lose. I'll think about one when next my battery expires and it's good to have a cheaper alternative to the Odyssey. If I'm having to buy a new battery anyway, it drops to less than $30/kg of weight saving...

Oops. Sorry bad maths, but yes if a new batter needed then bracket is the only real additional cost (maybe then this mod costs $20 per Kg net).

John you could have alot of fun with that CF cloth apart from the obvious getting high on the fumes. maybe wrap the dunny lid with it...

John dropped off more parts this morning one of which was the Rennline engine mount stiffener. Quite a nice piece, laser cut by the looks and fits like a glove which makes welding it on a piece of cake.
The original mount is quite weak actually and surprisingly soft, John's one was bent on one end as well but no major.
Ground the paint off in the places where it needs welding and clamped the new piece over the top.
Few welds later job done ready for powdercoating.

Anyone here experienced a reluctant/delayed accelerator response in later metal?

In partial response, Porsche reputedly stated:

This kind of thing, if true, doesn't particularly support driving confidence and pleasure.

I've experienced what I thought was slight turbo lag when overtaking after a long stint of under the speed limit driving whilst stuck in a queue. Work around is to consciously put it in Sport mode and shift before pinning it, in which case any thought of lag quickly evaporates
