John youd find this interesting. Surprising outcome. I think they must have just had a bad 965 (reliability wise). Reinforces the fact that the 996T is such awesome value right now. Not sure they make an ideal track package but for everything else including Targa Tour they make a very strong case...
Yes, I've read that before. Horses for courses. They both have strengths. I've chosen a 964 for my track car for a reason. It's about challenge and character.

John. Im glad you chose 964 and not 964T for your track car!

Id consider leaving the wheels as they are for a while and see if you like them before experimenting with the plastidip. I really like the silver 964 with Fuch's you posed because it has its own unique identity.

I'm going to Plastidip the D90 tribute wheels first.

Ducktail on the way. Now I need a spoiler grill. Any spares floating around out there?

A friends old 997.1 GT3 CS has popped up at CCS:

Its well worth taking for a drive.
Strangely CCS has put a white rev counter face in it.

Also, Turners have a damaged/written off 964 tipo done 107,000kms:

I guess the engine could be good for a project?

The silver one on Trademe went for $23,000 so even fully functioning they're not worth a lot. I can't see much value in this car unless it comes as a steal. Some of us would value the non sunroof skin, but the engine would likely be only of value to someone who needs a replacement and is not worried about the possible future bills if it smokes.

John. You don't waste any time! Is the grill insert a 964 part or from an earlier 911 like some of the ducktails? Which supplier did you go with?

Macca, I'm away for work so have plenty of time to cruise the Net, plus I can't see the point in waiting. The Fuchs and the duck tail deal to the two things I wasn't happy about the car from day one. Supplier is Rennspeed. Good website, in business for a long time. Good ebay feedback and style is right, as apparently is quality. They also do this in white gel coat so. Can conceivably fit now and paint later. It's not clear which insert I need. The website says SC.

John. I agree - get it all sorted while the car is down. Yes SC or older 911. I did tonnes of research on this for the 993. Rennspeed ones fit better than MA Shaw but still may need some sanding and fettling to get a perfect fit and finish. Our cars were handmade and Ive found sometimes panels are not quite symmetrical side to side.
