How much do you want for them Macca?

Took the car for a little drive this morning, tried to accelerate gently (with traffic) away from the lights and the rear started walking sideways. Bit of a pucker moment!

What tyres are you looking at? I've had excellent experiences with Michelin in the past (PS2 and PSS on an E46 M3, the PSS were almost invincible wet or dry and lasted well on track), but the Cups are famous for aquaplaning in the wet and my rears are almost bald which isn't helping. I tried pricing up some PSS but they don't make rears in GT3 fitment. A new set of Cups are a month (or a massive air freight bill) away, so looking at other options... I think I'll run some decent dry/wet road tyres on the standard wheels and semislicks on a spare set of wheels.

I've also had good experiences on road and track with Bridgestone RE11 on my 964, but I haven't had PS2 or PSS on that car to compare directly. I was also told they're no longer available (I ended up sourcing mine from TireRack), but offered no info on what was replacing them.

Phil, I have a full set of new Michelins PS2 in my garage. I bought two sets in from the UK. Maybe we could do a deal and I can put the money towards hankook 221s for my 964?

In terms of performance on the track I found the Michelins very good. Very progressive.

Phil, I'm in Melbourne. Back All day Saturday and out again on Sunday for another 2 weeks.

PS 2 are standard 225/40 and 295/30. ZR18 N3 I think. Ex UK they are $2,300 per set in my garage. It costs another $125 to fit in New Market.

Hankooks seem to be $1,600 per set. I think that
May include fitting and balancing.

Turn your back for 5 minutes and this place becomes swap mart meets Trade Me!

Phil those PS2 are a good road tyre. Might also suit Matt on the GT3 for around town driving if your not interested. They retail over $3k in NZ.

Matt. I only have Porsche branded napkins in storage sorry mate, but at a pinch they could do the job!Going into winter those MPSCs will be a handful. Its not just the water its the tyre temperature. They need to be warm. If you are starting from scratch then MSS would be the go followed by PS2. Problem with RE11 even if you can get them in those fitments is that they need to be ordered and take too long to come should you need a replacement in a hurry. Thats the sad thing about the tyre market in nZ no one will hold the exotic rubber in generous sizes. there are guys over at CCS Ferrari that have had their car off the road for a month just waiting in a rear tyre because the tore a sidewall!

The Z221 (known as the Venturus TD elsewhere in the world) is around 1600 a set in 17" fitment fitted at Megatyre or 1890 for 18" same. They have the softs on the shelf in NZ. I dont think they will be in China as they seem to be a track tyre with export markets mainly in Japan NZ and Australia strangely.

If we're talking swap meet, I can add to the list

I can make the PS2 into a 964 Turbo or 993 set, as I have two 265/35 matching tyres as well.

I also have a couple of rear indicator lights for the 964. one with no cracks, one only fit to replace a broken one. I also have two H4 headlights, one fully working, the other working as well but with missing reflector silvering. I also have a spare cat, primary muffler and secondary muffler. lastly I have new sets of trim rubbers. I may yet fit a lot of those to my 964.

Offer him 7.5 less than hes asking.

I had white. Looses the curves a bit. Maritime is one of my favorite colours but I guess you already have a blue RS2 wagon so I can understand you not wanting another blue car...
