Yeah it's to do with your privacy settings Graeme. The post is set to Friends Only. I think you need to go back to the original post on your Facebook page and set to public, or add John (and others) as a friend. I went with the latter as it was easier ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Graeme, thanks for the insight into the ice driving. Reinvigorated my want to plan to do this with my father at some point (before he gets too risk averse!). Interesting comments on the dumb blonde approach. Even after reading your post in sure I would fall into the multiple/subtle input strategy.
Perhaps we need to recreate this in NZ as a gravel version in modded 996's...

Jake. I have talked about rounding up some others for next year but might depend on other things in the budget....
Also talked about what and how to replicate closer to home and the fact is it would be very difficult. Ice is next to impossible. No frozen lakes. Snow farm Wanaka? I haven't been there but it needs to be compacted enough to allow speed of up to say 100kph and if just snow not ice the studded tyres will rip up quickly so then have to use non studded winter tyres and then no grip to go faster.
The gravel option is valid. there are rally course options but not with the relative safety to push hard and spin of randomly with no consequence. then drive other cars

Thanks for posting the video Graeme, looks like great fun and I can imagine learning a lot of car control from a full (multi-)day immersion in that environment.
Speaking of the gravel option, has anyone done the rally driving courses/experiences in NZ? I've had it on my list of things to try for a while.

Thanks Buba. Id like to say it is true but alas I am busy doing laundry and packing!
The 993 was cleaned and returned to slumber on Tuesday after being stuck in traffic for an hour in the afternoon on the bridge and the aircon stopped working! I think that was payback for putting only 500km on her this trip!
Hopefully I will get one last drive in the GT3 this afternoon. I have to wash it and put it away tomorrow before we fly. One annoying aspect of this lifestyle of "living out a suitcase" is the need to constantly wash, clean, pack, cover, store everything from clothes to cars each time we come and go. It always takes a couple of days to sort out!
Its been a magic summer, in part of course made so by the company on this board. In the 5 weeks were were here we didnt get any rain! I covered 4000 very enjoyable KM in the two 911s and 2000KM in the rental so not a bad innings. It started 24hrs after arrival with a great run to Hellensvile with Buba, later that week a fun overnight return trip via SHW22 to TeAwa, a few days later a Ron Sunday run and then four days in Oakura exploring new and unknown roads with Doug (some of the most fun driving I have had in many years), then another Sunday Run this time to visit Steve in TeAwa with a number of RSG members. The next week was a track day which was one of the best yet, and the followed by visiting teh Festival of Speed last Saturday & Sunday. In between all of that were a couple of solo fast drives, visits to Piha, Waitipu, Riverhead etc. Most awesome time!
Tomorrow we depart for the next part of the adventure and for the next three months Im not sure you will be hearing much from me, at least not regularly due to roaming data (lack of and cost of). However I will try and keep an eye on you all at least every now and then!
April finds us back again for a month taking in the 28th RSG track day which is shaping up to be a another goodie. Then on the 15th May is the Targa Bambina with Jamie. This will be the highlight of the trip driving wise I am sure. We were hoping to have company in the form of Doug/son and Walter/Paul and maybe Chris B & Pete. That will be an epic 3 days!
Take care all. Im keenly watching to see what gets bought and sold, finished (Dave & Doug), broken and repaired whilst Im away!

Is anyone else having trouble with attached images (not those embedded using the IMG tag) being shown as text links even if logged in?
Seems to be more prevalent using the desktop version of RL

Via the IB Autogroup app (not the Rennlist app) on iPhone I'm seeing images embedded in posts as per normal.
