Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Glad its not just me. For about three days now. Logged out and back in and same problem. no images displayed, just the link
Thanks for posting the video Graeme, looks like great fun and I can imagine learning a lot of car control from a full (multi-)day immersion in that environment.
Speaking of the gravel option, has anyone done the rally driving courses/experiences in NZ? I've had it on my list of things to try for a while.

in that vid would be 2nd for 2 or 3 corners then 3rd rest of time. can hit redline in 3rd. the instructors would be 4th for short time. But I preferred not to go to 4th at tht stage of the learning process because it means you need to manage the change back down in a more complex way. More things to do to and maybe get wrong. brake, change down and position car in right place and right angle etc. The vid was beginning 2nd day so by end of that day was much more comfortable and did occasionally hit 4th on largest track but if not would be max revs 3rd 4 times on this largest track
Good luck with your next adventure Macca and Jo and see you back in godzone before you know it.
Graeme, exciting stuff. Thanks for sharing. The video on FB gives a sense of it. 3 days of that must have been truly amazing

I have 3 GT3 questions for people here to get opinions:
1. If the new GT3 RS does come out in manual do you think that will push 4.0 RS prices down?
2. Is the 3.8RS outshone by the 4.0 or is it pretty much as good (Evo chose it as their best drivers car ever over the 4.0, not sure if that is because it's better or because it's more available.)?
3. Are the prices of older GT3s here to stay or is that just a blip and they will start going back down again soon like any 4 year old etc cars do?

Question 1 - No. The new 991 GT3 RS is just the current model, no different from the 7.1 in 2007 and 7.2 RS in 2009. The 4.0 RS is something better, bigger displacement, lighter and more special again.
Question 2 - I don't think a 3.8RS and 4.0RS owner are the same thing now. 4.0 RS's are worth 2-3 times more and are collectors items. You are as likely to use a 4.0 RS as a driver or track day weapon as you are a 2.7 RS. Some will, but most won't.
Question 3 - The 997 Gen II is an excellent car, but they still trade at below their new car value, so the deprecation has just softened. The 997 RS will always be special as it is the last of the manuals, but the 4.0 RS will always be the best of the manuals. The bigger question is whether all increased 911 values are here to stay, not just GT3's. The answer will be the same.
Great answers Paul and I agree entirely.
I'll add a few points and a further question to introduce another element.
The 991 GT3 RS will be PDK-S only. There will not be a manual.
Used GT3 prices are still very reasonable in NZ compared to UK & USA.
The announcement of a manual only Cayman GT4 in the near future may have a bigger impact on used 7.1 GT3 prices than any subsequent or new GT3/RS launches. It's all but confirmed the car will be 3.8L, 380 bhp parts bin special with more aggressive handling and will outperform earlier GT3 on road and track. Base price in the USA is likely to be around 90k so in USA & UK/Europe markets this will be quite an affordable alternative to an older GT3 and may also come with a track warranty like the new 991 GT3. Best get on the order books in the next month or two however as I believe RHD cars will be fairly scarce...
