Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

My son is conversing with this millennial friends who all seem to be horrified at the result but can't point to how it impacts them. The irony is the perceived imperialism that annoys that generation so much is likely to abate as the US becomes more introspective.
You can't escape the fact that Western Democracies appear to be experiencing silent majority backlashes. It will be a fun four years watching developments. I was surprised at the presidential nature of his victory speech. Now for the USD to dive so I can buy for next years family holiday

John if you are intended to head away with the family for a holiday in the next 4-5 months you may think to start hedging some USD now at these levels.
As I predicted Wheelers rhetoric was soft and closed the door prematurely in my opinion. The NZD spiked this morning. I really cant see any further upside in the NZD from here (mid 73s) for quite some while. Failing another bumper GDT, there is no RBNZ announcements to note for a few months and I still believe the FED will tighten in four weeks time assuming Trump stays a bit under the radar and the markets continue to remain buoyant. I think only 60% built into the USD today and the Greenback is still weak after the Trump win although it has recovered a bit against the Yen, Euro, GBP etc but still a fair bit soft compared to 24 hours ago. I can only see the USD picking up a bit of steam if there are no impediments to a FED rise and unless NZ data is exceptional all round between now and late Jan I would predict the Kiwi will start to gravitate towards the low side of its 70-75 range. One mans view in a sea of views I know. Wheeler has left little upside surprises and he can only disappoint if he has to back track later on. IMO the NZD should be trading 0.67-0.68 around its natural balance....
Rats won't quarrel when there's a cat in their box.
A conventionally anxious populace is accepting of conventional governance, but a new batter is yet to step up to the plate after the existential threats of Nazism, cold war nuclear annihilation, and then - to a substantial degree - AIDS. Certain middle eastern outfits (evil as they were and are) were dressed up to look the part but that play is starting to wind down too now. In the absence of a uniting superthreat, lower-tier anxieties such as loss aversion, we humans' innate fear of 'other', plus our simple fear of missing out (and everyone seems to want to live like the Kardassians these days) tend to come to the fore instead.
In other words, that half-century plus run of sustained anxiety probably saw governed populations accept tradeoffs that increasingly chafe these days, and many are now probably thinking "hey, it's our turn".
(FWIW, at primary school we were left in no doubt that in the unlikely event that nuclear annihilation didn't get us first, we'd soon succumb to starvation from Malthusian over-population. So I've been living on bonus time for ages already.)

Nice driving. Heel and toe shifts are a bit off (like mine). Those G50 boxes and clutches with a LWF arent easy to catch from my experience. Shame we dont get to see 964/993 driven in anger like this any more in RSG. I guess Chris B will hopefully be filling that void in Seans car with Doug and co on NITT next week! Bring it on...
