Paul give the dodgy old fleabags a rest for a year, go tell Tony you'll trade your 993 in on a nice 997.1 GT3 and go have some fun on the track. Install the rear seats for the wife and join us for the May Targa Tour 2015...it's the only sensible thing - if it's not for you ( unlikely) then sell it after a year and buy a flea bag you can bring up to scratch and spend your weekends polishing it for the PCNZ Xmas concours and an old 944 race car to keep Steve in business ;-)
Jeez Macca - succinct and on the money in a single post!!
Thinking in particular of that orange GT700 997 Turbo that was on for years at $300,000 or so. Anyone know what happened to it?
It got repainted in plain black which I understand was the original colour (unless the orange was a wrap) in which case it was removed and it turned up in a dealer asking about 180k if memory serves me correct
^^^^Thanks Graeme - supports my point that not all cars on TM are priced with any expectation of selling. Some are just listed as a rolling Lotto ticket.
And vertical head lights (993 fails this test and I think is the reason why 964's are coming more into fashion). Ideal car woudl be a 964 front and 993 *** - i.e 964 turbo................
This is why Pete and I have beer guts (insurance policy against getting into stickie situations - we all admire asethecially pleasing things) Even Macca was adopting this stragegy while in Europe.
