Herman has RUF calipers. They are stick on decals. I'm using the same type for the Turbo 3.6. Red coat first, then decal, then clear coat. I'm not sure about stencils as I figure it's a one shot go to make sure they have a crisp line and I'd be annoyed at a sub standard job after all of that prep.

Where did you get your decals from?

Interested to see the results of the caliper painting. Paint and decal were scratched/chipped when I had my springs installed :/

Was my thought too. Ellipses running along a long rectangular section would visually stretch it out and make it more elegant. Dots would look best for almost all other shapes (squares, circles, trapezoids etc - but maybe not for big ellipses). Suspect they may not go together too well though.

I got mine from ebay, they were meant to be the ones to have, and made from some special vinyl. I think they have aged very well.

Thanks Nik. They look good. The script is the same format as the big reds on the Turbo 3.6. I went to CCS this morning and looked at the other Turbo 3.6 to confirm mine are original. All ready to start when the weather is warm enough to paint.

Nik. I did mine EXACTLY the same way as you did with same supplier probably in 2005. Have held up very very well (now replaced with factory big which I should say from observation of others will not last as well!). Not sure why by the brembo factory red paint discoloured and de-laminated relatively very quickly.

Gents. Id like to try and organise a private HD "test day" early Jan. We have four confirmed so far - not looking for a large group. Details on RSG board.....

John. I suspect that is because RUF took the factory brembo black calipers and had them painted in the same fashion as Nik & I....
Heat is the issue here and substandard Brembo paint/clear-coat or powedercoat or whatever they chose to use in the 1990s. Their later brakes such as GT3 are better although those go purple with hard use rather than pink with flaky lacquer...
