I don't mind paying an extra Hundy to the BB fund but wonder if it would be fairer to have a slightly more user pays system? If we have enough data for costs associated with consumables (pads tyres fuel) plus a bit for maybe a 6 month service, a few beers for the garage owner and maybe even BB2 deposit when she finally ****s herself? Just a thought. Probably a crap one.

Jason, I'm not looking for any more money from you. Just wish you'd been able to record a session before you go overseas in case BB is munted before you get a chance to post a time.

I discussed this with Peter a few weeks back and it was decided as too difficult at this stage to work out what the cost would be per session ahead of paying some longer term expenses or to chase people after the event, especially if we break BB big time (people prefer to know the cost up front). A few more sessions and I reckon we'll start to understand the costs per session better and then it can become more user pays.

To be honest I'm a bit surprised at the use we're getting out of BB and how well she's holding up (famous last words) so I didn't think it through this far. The combination of people getting her sorted and the use of a garage close by is making it work. The rest will evolve..I have impure thoughts every time I see an Integra GSI, but it's only a short step after that to a red mist inspired accident.

I think it's a good thought, and I was thinking the same myself the other evening (while feeling slightly guilty at having more sessions than some) but forgot to say anything. I can see it feeling unfair/expensive for those who aren't able to get sessions in often.

Given the data we've got now, we can probably work out how many sessions a set of front pads last. Assume the rotors are 2-3x that, and maybe tyres are 3-5x that, oil change of <$100 every 10-20 days, etc. and come up with a ballpark per-session running cost. I'm wildly guessing we'd be looking at around $35/session?

Edit: cross-posted with John, as he says it should become more obvious what the per-session cost is over time.

And can we get a Type R for BB2, please?

Matt - Type R? it's a slippery slope when we revert to type

I thought an ideal BB2 would be the same as BB1, then I realised it would likely lead to Playday turning into a race and some panel rubbing. Plus we're a Porsche group and this is the side show, not the major event. Still Going wheel to wheel around turn 1 would make for a great day.

Matt, now you have all of the BB run data, can you share the secrets of a sub 1.28 lap?

Open source day. Top 3 runs. Chris = green, Blue = Pete and Red = Matt.

Looks like Pete is onto something with the momentum tactic.

Thanks Ralf. Looks like we may be continuing to run EBC. I'll see what prices offshore are like.

I'm the top bidder now, but I think they are holding out for their buy now or close to it. Problem is that it can never be a 2k cup car if bought at that cost.

Looks like the local prices are competitive. Just a thought given Pete's graph is particular, why are we going for race brakes when the fast times are momentum not aggressive braking related? Jono ran his times with Repco pads. Probably shorter life but possibly more economic.

Amazon.com: EBC Brakes DP41206R Yellowstuff Street and Track Brake Pad: Automotive Amazon.com: EBC Brakes DP41206R Yellowstuff Street and Track Brake Pad: Automotive

Amazon looks cheap for the pads. It is around $87 + $20 for shipping to NZ all USD.

Maybe we should order 2 sets? What do you think?

It wax all good until I got to the pay screen. NZD 198.57 for two sets then NZD 122.47 for shipping. Total NZD 321.04. Not a lot cheaper than NZ.
