The cost of removing parts from a wreck, preparing them and refitting them to Lola is IMO higher than the cost of me importing new parts from PCNA in black etched primer for immediate fitments and painting. The cost of buying stripped back used parts from LAD or UK breaker is also cheaper. If you want to spend a year making a mess of your yard and copping stones, spend all your free time and be left with a chassis carcass you have to pay to have disposed of then it is cheaper to do as you say....

The conversion kit is offered by DP Motorsport at prices starting from EUR 6.828,00 (inc. VAT). The kit includes the front hood and bumper, fenders and side sills, rear bumper and spoiler, lens cover for indicator and grill, all necessary adapters and brackets, as well as the polished stainless steel tailpipe of the exhaust system.

CF. Get the Vat off, add freight and Gst for in the order of NZ$13k ish landed

Sorry Doug. I was looking at a different kit! But as per my PM to you your fitting prep and paint cost will be same again plus some. AM stuff needs a lot of fettling to get it looking right. New PAG panels plug and play....

Doug might be best to contact DP for what you need as a quote. Just to make sure you have solid numbers for comparitive purposes.

Someone be charitable (looking at you Doug...) and refresh their website for them, that page is hard to look at! It's unclear what's actually involved in the event.

I was wondering if there are any motorsport related events for kids, be it just to sit or be driven around in cars etc. Be good to share the love of Porsche a bit with kids that don't normally have access. The other side of me doesn't want the greasy little mitts anywhere near my car...

I don't know what they run to maybe $500k NZ?, would I do it if I could? Not certain. Singers IMO are the pinnacle of resto modded 911's but I've been following that 964 resto on Facebook that John put us onto a while back and that would be the way I would go I think. Control the spec, have a proper budget and get the best local guys working on it with premium parts from the well known suppliers. I can totally appreciate the main bits that make a Singer special but not the $30k wiring harness and things like that. The original Porsche one works fine I'm sure. I've seen some Home made interpretations of Singers and it is hard to pull off so best to do your own thing to avoid it not quite being there.
Looking for that untapped 964 style Doug. There is room for a sleeper dressed in gentleman's clothes? Luxurious but with a bite. No oversize flares and big wheels, just subtle changes. Full leather, hand made bespoke furniture. Something different.

For those who can afford a Singer, they probably don't care about its resale value.

What I look forward to seeing in 10-20yrs time is a Singer's resale value (will they hold their value or otherwise).

I am guessing a used Singer will be 50-70% percent of a new one, as they are very 'personal', will no longer be new, and I guess most of the fun is spec'ing a custom car to your taste and not someone elses.

Would be interested in others thoughts on this?
