Installed a Numeric shifter in place of the stock shifter. Very mechanical and precise, and got rid of the annoying plasticky sounds when shifting. It's a shame it's covered by the center console, it's like an engineering work of art.
I have a Numeric shifter also, I wonder if its worth getting a "donor" console to cut down/mod and expose the shifter mech?
Lol! Your removed the coolant tank to do the injectors..... the injectors on a 997.1 are tedious but a relatively Easy job. I’ve done it without even lowering the motor!
I’d pay to see how you accomplish that job as described? Otherwise I’m thinking you may believe the earth is actually flat. No offense intended.
Installing the Function First Shift Right kit into the OEM SSK. Unfortunately, got stuck on getting the snap rings into place, so ordered a snap ring plier and will pick it up in the morning.
I just did that upgrade as well, I too thought for a moment “I don’t need no stinking snap ring pliers”. no such luck!
honestly for a few reasons.
i watched Jake Raby’s bore scoring series and got freaked out a little bit. One of his prevention recommendations is to swap these out.
i’ll also take any opportunity to dig into working on the car, addiction is a terrible thing.

I only took one picture. But there is so much room on the pass side not sure why you struggled.
the drivers side you do have to move some coolant, fuel breather, and vacuum lines out of the way then the harness pops up with the rail and you unplug them.
I would bet money you tried to unplug them with the rail down and so much **** gets in the way.

You can pull all of it up together.
the passenger side was "easier" for sure, the #1 injector was hard to get too at first. I have Popeye the sailor forearms which didn't help. The driver's side is impossible without removing some furniture for sure. getting the tank out wasn't too bad, just some awkward wiggling to figure out until it magically releases. Once the tank was out i could get both arms in there and swap the injectors in a few minutes. I'd recommend spending the effort on the drivers side to avoid the frustrations and lacerations of attempting it with the tank in place. IMHO

Well the reason I asked was I had considered that too but was told injector issues were mostly on 997.2 models.
AFAIK, the idea that bore scoring is caused/exacerbated by leaky injectors is still just conjecture. I haven't watched a Jake Raby video in a few months but last time I did, he was saying it was just a theory. In the absence of more definitive evidence, I'm still leaning on the theory that bore scoring is a manufacturing issue.
It can't hurt to replace high-mileage injectors, and in full disclosure, I had mine replaced at 87k miles but that was in the process of trying to track down a fuel pressure leakdown situation. It might also be a good idea if your oil analysis shows fuel dilution.
As a purely preventative measure, it's terribly expensive--especially if you're paying a shop the 8 or 9 hours of labor the book calls for.
3rd Radiator and LN low temperature thermostat. The oil temperature dropped 15-20 degrees according to the dummy gauge. It never cracked 200 in 67 degree weather and 70 mile drive (highway and rolling back roads)
I think this should have been standard on the F77 package.

I agree with you. I found the Bosch injectors for $43 each, so not bad IMO. At a minimum my mind is a bit more at ease and I learned something new in the process.
