What did you do to your 997 today?

Just so you're aware, if you depress the clutch and hold the key in the start position for 30 seconds it will bypass the clutch switch and you can start the car. I'll find the document that supports this. A 997.1 C2S owner showed me this at a car show two weeks ago. Good to know if you're stranded from a faulty clutch switch you can be on your way in 30 seconds. Bad if there are bears after you.

Installed a multifunction steering wheel. Then had my mechanic set it up. Really missed the volume and track control. Will send it out to Dallas Custom Steering Wheel once it is more worn and beef it up.

Melbourne15, I love your car and interior. Can anyone tell me what the distinction between our two interior differences are? I obviously can see the different color dash and wheel, but why could you order each and is it possibly a year thing? I was worried about the red interior being too much and now that I own it, I simply love the contrast it makes.

vw997, from the look of it both you and melbourne have 09 997.2, where you have the sport steering wheel and melbourne has the multifunction steering wheel.
both steering wheels are 997.1 carry-overs and the 997.2 steering wheels started on 2010 cars.
your interior looks lipstick read while melboune looks like 2-tone black/terracotta. both your cars have lovely full leather dash (imo a must for the 911).
some experts here will correct me i am sure!

Thank you WV997S and MYW for the feedback! MYW you are spot on, i also have an 09 S. It does have the Black/Terracotta full leather. I did not realize the steering wheel was a carryover from 997.1. Its not the most pleasing to look at, but i do like being able to tune radio and send/receive calls without taking my hands off the wheel. Love the Crimson interior on your car WV997S! One of my other favorites is the cocoa leather interior. I believe the full leather interiors were quite pricey when nee, with your Crimson leather being even more expensive than my two-tone combo. $4k-$5k approximately?
