You can do the front sensors without taking the bumper off. You just need to take the light out.

Thank you! Florida flat roads are so smooth. Sometimes you forget how quickly you get up to speed.

New pedals finally arrived! Sadly I cant drive the car because I bought these before my clutch went out...

Out with the old, these were installed before I bought the car.

Final look, pedals feel great.

Default Chrono Pod

got a new lil something in today. This pod has a slightly different shape than the original one in my 997 and doesn’t swivel. Are the 997 and 987 pods different?

Default DSC

Took the day off. Went for a run. Went grocery shopping and decided to go for a drive up and down Santa Cruz mountains.

After driving the car for about an hour, I stopped on the parking lot at the intersection of Rte 9 and Skyline Blvd, got out, opened the passenger door, shoved my hand up in the passenger footwell, found the OEM suspension controller, gently pushed/pulled on the tab as they say... the whole thing came out (unit and mount - what’s that mount attached to anyway??). After fiddling with the plug for a minute, I then started trying to remove the unit from the mount... that took another minute (didn’t even swear somehow), told myself “why are you removing a perfectly functional part?” and did the swap. Plugged the DSC controller, pushed the controller (attached to the mount) up wherever it goes, got back in the driver seat and drove away.

I actually went back on my tracks and pulled a u-turn to come back the same way I had done earlier. After 3 minutes of driving on a kinda rough part of road, I told myself, “I’m definitely taking this out and selling this thing as soon as I get home”. Ended up going west on Rte 9 and started driving the car harder. After about a minute of that, I told myself “this thing is a keeper”.

My take on the DSC controller: don’t buy it if you’re looking for additional comfort, the difference between that and the original set up is barely noticeable. However, if you intend, to drive your car more “vigorously”, the DSC makes a world of difference. Car appears better dampened and much more controlled.

Tried both normal and sport. For around here, the majority of the time, normal mode seems to be the way to go.

Default Center Delete

Had a blast with an old Marine buddy yanking out the center muffler on my 997.2 4GTS and replacing it with a Shark Werks crossover exhaust. Took about 2 hours...not counting all the bull**** stories!

Much better sound! And we got to test it out in the north Georgia mountains too...

I removed and replaced the stone guards on the rear fenders. What a mess! First I used heat and plastic razor blades. That took off the plastic in pieces, but left all of the adhesive. Then, spray adhesive remover with more plastic razor blades. Last step was more spray adhesive remover and rubbing with a microfiber cloth. Each side took about one hour. Then I installed Lamin-X. That took about ten minutes on each side. I will not let this go for ten years, although the product may be better now than it was in 2010.
