As my 997.2 is heading towards 80k miles, I'm getting ready for some upgrades and preventative maintenance (still waiting on 2 more parts deliveries this week). Did oil, brake flush and tires a couple of weeks ago, so now time for:
Function First upgraded engine mounts
3rd Radiator Install
Water Pump
Thermostat
Coolant Flush
Serpentine belt
Tensioner
Idler roller and assembly
Install some near new OEM cats/headers I've had sitting around for a long time
Replace manifold, bolts and exhaust gaskets while in there
New 02 sensors while I'm in there (replaced 1 not so long ago - hence only 3 in the pic)
My first 911. 2007 C2S Cab. 61k miles. Looking forward to doing a proper introduction to the group soon. See ya out there! Got clear side markers swapped in. Car needed a new clutch, so I had the shop swap the old tan boot and shifter for this black boot and turbo shifter. I think it turned out nice.
Washed today after I finished up with work. A quick clay bar prep before trying out Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic spray wax. Goes on really easy and seems to look great. Time will tell how well it holds up but for the ease of application, I wouldn't hesitate to use this as a maintenance coating.
Consider going to silver wheels on this 2012 4GTS that is new to me...swapping center locks to black and the caps to black and white.
Only a fan of black wheels on black cars, but I couldn’t pass on this car. I have a great independent wheel guy locally.
Thoughts???
I vote for black wheels on this beauty, nice contrast, the silver doesn't do it for me on white, not enough of a transition for my brain. Black center caps too. Beautiful car!

Nice GTS!
Hmmm ...if you stick with the black RS's, consider leaving the lips as-is. I had mine refinished all black, and that set is stored away. Mounted, the wheels are subdued, blending "too well" with the tires (see photos at the link below). Mind you, to each their own ...especially on wheels!

One more vote for keeping the current wheels rather than going to silver.

Nice! You going with the .1 or the .2 center radiator? I'm jealous - I want that mod but the .2 version is so pricey and I don't love the thought of rigging the.1 version.
Let me know if you notice any difference with the new engine mounts.
I just replaced my header to cylinder head exhaust gaskets as well as part of some suspension work - I installed some adjustable rear toe arms and the headers block you from removing the bolt that attaches these arms to the frame. It was a particularly frustrating procedure to install new gaskets! The gasket wants to slide around on you, the headers are HEAVY, and it's very hard to get everything lined up so you can start running the bolts back in. Ultimately what I did was 3 small pieces of thin scotch tape to hold the gasket to the header. I was able to pull a couple pieces off after the first two bolts were in but another couple pieces stayed on - no matter, it will burn off in seconds and won't impact sealing. I also used a floor jack to support the headers and jack them up into place so I could use both hands to align and thread things. Couldn't have done it without the floor jack. Also used anti-sieze on those bolts.
Performed complete coolant system flush including draining radiators, engine, heater core, and refilling with mix of distilled water and new OEM Porsche coolant
Installed new suspension go-fast parts: Ohlins Road and Track coilovers, front GT3 lower control arms, front and rear GT3 sway bars, SPL adjustable drop links front and rear, Tarett Engineering rear toe locking kit and front upper monoballs, SPL bump-steer adjustable rear toe arms, and new OEM upper front and rear strut bearings.
Now that it is all in, I still need to set the ride height (I will probably go with the C2S "Sport" OEM height - same as the Sport Classic), corner balance it, then align it with smart strings and my digital home-made camber/caster gauge. I might check the rear bump steer with my bump steer gauge at some point too if I have time.
Bought some Tubi mufflers for the car I said I'm just gonna leave stock and enjoy... 3 weeks after getting it.
easy install too!
What year is your car? Assume it's a .1 since I don't see the center muffler delete pipes in the picture. Had those mufflers on my -06 C4S and loved the sound. Even a neighbor with two Ferraris commented on the sound. Just curious....what's your thought?
