400k buys you a ton! So many other choices I would rather have than paying a 125k ADM. A 296 will be less than 400k with 300 more hp. lol. It just doesnt make sense.

Yes exactly.
400k is a huge amount for any car, however amazing each is.
This pricing is insane for what else you can get. The best of I-want-it-now-ness is in full effect on this again.

Thats all it is. Pay a stupid premium just to get the new car now. Too many other cars selling at msrp or less to drop a 125k adm. And the only reason people do it is cause they think they can sell it for 150k over.

I'm not saying that I'm the smartest person in the room but I refuse to pay an ADM for any new car, I've done it before once and I felt dirty afterwards and swore that I'd never do it again. I've been around long enough to know that ADMs on the new shiny GT toys will melt like ice cream on a hot day so yes I don't think it's very smart to pay huge ADMs on cars knowing that they'll come down in the short look. Hell, look at what the economy is doing and what the Fed will continue to do. These GT cars are not collector cars and shouldn't be treated as such, simple as that.

I think I'd seriously look at a used Speciale or Pista next year if I don't get an allocation at MSRP for a GT3RS.

Pista or Speciale is going to be more than 400k but for that plenty of Mclarens, Ferraris (F8) and Lambos available. If you think that Porsche is the only company that makes great cars, then you wont care about the ADM and pay whatever you want. But lets be real- Porsche does make some great cars but so do others. And the only reason people pay these stupid mark ups is cause they think they are buying an investment vehicle when in reality none of these cars are investments. I still remember my 2016 GT3RS. Bought for 215k, sold for 185k and dealer was giving me all sorts of flak about the softening market, overproduction etc etc. The last few years have just been weird and insane but I would not want to pay 125k ADM in this economy with what is on the horizon.

Having said that- if money is no object and you want what you want- buy it, enjoy it and have fun. Personally I can have just as much fun with an MSRP car.

Whatever you do, drive and enjoy in good health.

Some buy cars and build relationships for years to buy their GT3 at MSRP. Some pay ADM because they are impatient or they just don't have the time to play the relationship game. Nether are stupid or smart. Let them be. Everyone is just buying a car to enjoy. Who cares how they get there.

and by “relationship” it’s usually trading cars into the MSRP dealer way under market pricing and/or buying panny/cayennes. But yeah, don’t call it ADM

just because someone values something more than you and is willing to pay more for it doesn’t mean they’re not smart. It’s the marketplace

Not everyone who buys cars thinks about “how much money can I retain if I sell it in 3 years”

I think we can all admit that paying ADM for regular GT cars is not a smart financial decision. I don't care how the GT cars that I buy retain value because I actually drive and track them, I just don't feel they are worth the huge ADMs especially when we are going into economic headwinds.

Oh I know Speciales and Pistas are over $400k for now, if I buy one of them it won't be until next year once I know that I can't get a GT3RS at MSRP. They'll also come down in value just like GT cars so time is on my side and in the meanwhile I'll enjoy my Touring and GT4RS.

And with the Dow Jones -1000 points today and Nasdaq - 497..... I would suggest that the "huge" ADM's will become a thing of the past.

If I sell you a used GT3 right now at MSRP is that considered with or without ADM?

buying any $200k car is a ‘want’ and not a wise financial decision. Eating $500 omakase or pimping out your theatre room also not financially wise. Still doesn’t mean people are not smart, they just want it and can swing it.
