A place to discuss all things ADM

What am I dreaming about? I am a bit confused here. I really don't know what is going to happen in 2 years but there won't be any new GT3 then. I was commenting on new allocations and pricing for new GT3 for this year and next year. Are you suggesting that it will be MSRP on used 992.1 in two years? Perhaps. I don't know as I cannot see that far.

The 3RS really wasn’t holding its value pre-pandemic. It’s a track car, that’s not as fast as a cup car, and not as much of a drivers car as a touring. I think it’s a great car, but its niche is pretty small even within the world of sports cars. A handful of them will get tracked, a handful collected, and most flipped.

Has anyone had any recent experience with what kind of ADM dealers are asking for the base turbo coupe? I had one dealer suggest $25,000 adm on a coupe currently.

two of the dealers I have bought cars from in 2021 and 2022 both told me that 2023 would be the last year for the GT3 and most dealers have commitments for their allocations.
I did buy my 2022 GT4 ordered just before the pandemic really got under way at msrp - and the dealer honored that when it arrived. I was worried they were going to try bumping up the price when I sat down to pay for the car.
I would like to believe I would have walked away- I am sure I would have - well maybe.
so GT cars ar msrp has not been such a distant past event.
I decided myself to chase an allocation for a base Turbo- a lot more hp and wider body and active aero front and back and cool side scoops and can book an Allocation at msrp and at msrp not much different than a GT3 if we’ll optioned. But not as popular of course or as cool as a GT3.

they have a list of people they know will pay 6 figure adm and that list is many many times longer than the number of allocations they anticipate.

Dealers seem to know how many additional GT3 allocations they will receive and two dealers I have bought cars from both told me they either have given their allocations to customers or they intend to spec the car themselves and sell it from their showroom for The best premium over msrp they can get.
anything is possible and this info could be wrong- but two different dealers I know very well - told me this is the last model year for the GT3 and moving on to selling the GT3-RS.
The only 992 model left to release would be the 992 T - and I read an interview with a Porsche engineer for the 911 way back when the 992 was released and he said they fully expected to release a 992 T model.
A manual transmission base engine - light weight- 992 coupe might actually be the most comfortable and fun 992 to drive of all. Maybe make available rear wheel steer and the other performance options from the S model up. Strap door handles, a wing on the back - and plaid seats. This would be the only manual transmission base engine model. Don’t worry about 385 hp being inadequate on a mountain road — the base 992 engine spins up faster with smaller turbos than the S and is more than enough - and you get to actually rev out the engine longer on your way to illegal speeds. The GT3 or RS models are fantastic for bragging rights at a PCA coffee morning meeting but on a mountain road a base engine 992 with a manual transmission would be sports car Nirvana. Porsche is saving the best drivers car for last. Sadly of course the top speed would be less than 190 mph - but this is a sacrifice worth making for a car that is fantastic fun on an on ramp or a country road.

Exactly. By now, dealers have an idea how many more slots are coming and who they will give them to with or without ADM. That’s what I meant by “992gt3 is done.” If you have not yet been promised a slot by now, the chance of spec’ing one is close to none. Dealers are moving on to allocating 3RS. Just buy one off the lot if you want a new one or wait for used ones’ price to come down, if they do come down.

You now have said twice that the 992 GT3 “is done” which sure I guess is possible but that is counter to every generation before so where are you getting this from? Why do you think there won’t be a 992.2 GT3?

That’s true. I was merely referring the availability of spec’ing a new 992.1 is ending. Last gt3 or not does not concern me. Inevitability, some will not get a call and have wait for 992.2 or buy one in the secondary market.
