Frankly, I think it will cause the GT3 prices to hold firmer with that reveal. The C&C and mountain drivers aren't going to flock to the new 3RS.

I've been looking for the perfect spec, but finding one in Chalk or Miami Blue with what I want is impossible.

Honeslty I don’t really care. I’m not in the market for one. Don’t need a third hyper focused track car in the garage. I think the RS looks nice but to me not worth the premiums that they will be asking. Definitely did a nice job with the design.

The cheapest 992 GT3 right now is 259,900
(371 miles) with a 174k sticker. Even if it drops 20% so less 52,000 you’re paying 208k for a 174k sticker. That’s still 20% over sticker.

991 manuals still selling strong at close to 200k with high miles. Sometimes over for pts. 991 tourings well over 200.

997 forget about it. 997rs see ya later.

991.2 rs will hold and maybe even go up a bit as it’s more usable.

I don’t see how 992’s get back to sticker. Hope I’m wrong for those who want one, but best way to get involved is buy a gt car like a 991.1 and play the game.

I vote just pay the ADM if you REALLY want the car (or whatever commodity). There are people who wait in line on Black Friday for crappy 50-inch TVs. I personally wake up early and constantly refresh the Nike SNKRS app for sneaker releases. I was "quoted" $50K over at my local dealer (or that's what they charged the last guy --- whether they'd get another allocation and/or release it at that price isn't clear). As a separate data point: just locked an allocation for Mrs. Malibu's Macan S last week (different dealer). Jokingly inquired about a GT3 allocation to the SA (is that what Porsche Advisors are called?) and he essentially said "a year and a half and $75,000 over MSRP at the moment". Texted me this AM that he had "submitted my GT3 build in order demand now" and that they would need 10% down at allocation lock and he'd stay in touch as the waitlist dwindles. What that means exactly, if anything at all, I have no idea.

Now, I'm totally fine with waiting 18-24 months. While instant gratification is my default setting, there's something about waiting (and maybe not getting) something that makes it all the more worth it once it's acquired. This isn't limited to cars. Since I first laid eyes on the 992 GT3 I feel in love. Mrs. Malibu and I have an understanding about this. It's weirdly visceral, particularly since the sum total of my Porsche knowledge pre-GT3 was that Mike Lowery's 964 Turbo in Bad Boys wasn't $85,000 and "didn't have no damn cup holders", it was in fact "$105,000 and it happen[ed] to be one of the fastest production cars on the planet". Now I'm reading about PDKs. 992s. GT3s. Bought my wife a Macan S. And am seriously asking myself, "do the kids really need to attend a private elementary school"? My latest obsession is playing around in the configurator in my free time. I probably need a more exciting life.

To me, it's purely financial. If the opportunity presents itself, I can build the exact car I want AND my wife doesn't divorce me prior to delivery then I'll do it. That's a lot of "ifs" no doubt and probably not going to happen quite honestly. But if it does and the market demands an ADM, it's really just: "Can I reasonably afford this?".For something you really want, deserve and are willing to work hard to achieve, why not get/do it? Life is too damn short. In my line of work (estates, wills, trusts) I see so many people who wish they'd done this and regret not doing that. What's the old saying? I've never seen an armored car following a hearse. As long as my family is comfortable and I can help my parents into their golden years (not financially -- they're set -- but in general), is this toy REALLY gonna hurt the bottom line that badly? Plus as you said, the values on a decent quotient of the older models are either static or stratospheric. Worst case I break even and sell after a few years of driving it. Best case it's the last NA GT3 and it appreciates and my son's taking it to prom in 17 years.

That said, and maybe this is unique to this particular corner of RL, it appears as though many of you appear to be much further along in this journey called life than I am. Grown kids. Paid-off primary residences. Retirement accounts and pensions. 5-10 Porsches deep in the game. Perhaps not being accustomed to that makes this ADM thing a tad more palatable to me.


Watched the reveal. Doesn't do it for me. But then again, and again, I'm new to this, the GT3RS seems significantly more track focused. While the GT3 would never be my daily, I probably would track it a decent amount, if only to appease/justify my better half. Are GT3 buyers also purchasing the GT3RS?

991.2 were below sticker prior to this covid market. 991.2 RS were at sticker. so its possible.

New GT3 allocations are pretty much done. GT3RS is next. As soon as the last GT3 rolls off the plant, say good bye to the configurator. Price may soften short term while many are waiting and hoping. It will go nuts again next spring when many are left empty handed and GT3RS is even more out of reach. Same cycle continues.

two of the dealers I have bought cars from in 2021 and 2022 both told me that 2023 would be the last year for the GT3 and most dealers have commitments for their allocations.

I did buy my 2022 GT4 ordered just before the pandemic really got under way at msrp - and the dealer honored that when it arrived. I was worried they were going to try bumping up the price when I sat down to pay for the car.

I would like to believe I would have walked away- I am sure I would have - well maybe.

so GT cars ar msrp has not been such a distant past event.

I decided myself to chase an allocation for a base Turbo- a lot more hp and wider body and active aero front and back and cool side scoops and can book an Allocation at msrp and at msrp not much different than a GT3 if we’ll optioned. But not as popular of course or as cool as a GT3.
