even if you had bought a 997 4.0 in 2012 for $200k, you’d still be in a better financial position putting that $$ in an index fund, not even counting running costs of the car.

Not a good comp RS 4.0 was 600 copies vs standard RS run of the mill, not a 500k car. 200k invested in 2010 to 2022 is north of 500k current.

Makes you ill you say? Prostitution? That’s a bit overly dramatic don’t you think? It’s comments like this, ladies and gentlemen, that continue to perpetuate the stereotype that Porsche owners (and rennlisters) are elitist, pompous snobs.
Perhaps you just scour these forums for benign words and phrases to take issue with so you can troll for fun, but you’re not contributing to the thread by expressing such mental fragility.

Just because some people choose to view a vehicle that is driven and enjoyed as an “investment” when it comes time to sell, doesn’t mean you need to take issue with it. Live and let live. Incidentally, Porsches own dealership SA’s have been known to refer to their own GT lines as “investments” to their customers when giving their sales pitch.

As long as the vehicle is driven and enjoyed is what matters. Indulging in black and white thinking and making snide comments on these forums isn’t helping this thread, or the continued negative perception of the community. Less trolling, more constructive comments related to the thread topic please.

I must have been out of the loop during those years. 991.2 GT3 RS started at $188k, Weissach package added $18k, mag wheels $13k. I’ve seen them go for just under $200k on BAT back in 2020, but if you have a link showing resale history with prices under MSRP would love to see it. Might keep me from buying one later this year

my 2019 RS 216k MSRP traded at 200k, and hate to say it sold 190k it sat and they moved it. 2020 sucked on resale for GT cars. It’s all timing man, just enjoy the cars some make money and many loose.

Bought my 2016 GT3 RS for 215k. Sold for 185k. It hasn’t always been candies and roses in the Porsche world.

2022 is the matrix and many want it to be real, and some will see it’s a movie and it’s just a car not pixie dust.

Well specced, the RS is about 275k. Add 170 to that and you are going to pay 440k for an RS???

No thanks. I mean....if it was a limited numbered car.....but for a regular production car? 440k??

Check that- I just specced an RS. Well specced but nothing crazy with lift, pccb and weissach package and a few other goodies. 283k and there is room to grow. so add another 170 on top so you have a 450k RS. Thats $868/hp. for a 518 hp car. Too rich for my blood. I dont see the value.

This new RS is so track focused that it’s mass market appeal is pretty narrow

Totally get it. Im just commenting on the 170k ADM. It puts this into Pista/F8/765 territory. Its not in the same class as those cars.
