What a hot mess POS and a very untrustworthy seller. While he states the car currently does not run, "It turns over fine, but does not start, and I do not know why. There is nothing wrong with the engine or the transmission.", right, except the line across the radiator is disconnected, there are wires poking out everywhere, the rattle can job on the intake sprayed over everything, the pictures are taken without comprehension that a buyer may want to see the interior, and who knows what else. It's a $1500 roller at best as it sits, and I wouldn't touch that greasy shift **** without rubber gloves!.

I knew this would be much loved 😂
I still need to drive a well sorted example though. I am in East TN and so far I have to drive 3+ hours to get to ones for sale; I checked out an 84S in Lexington but it had a bent frame and first gear was trashed. The motor was fine, but as Setzer said the low horsepower and tall gears made it feel pretty pokey. Might've liked it more if it wasn't such a mess though.
@Setzer I'm also curious about why you didn't mention the S4 - too much-added weight by that point?

I'm in Carthage...86.5 w/t56 swap courtesy of the previous owner(currently being rebuilt because of a 6th gear issue). If you get towards Nashville I'd be happy to try and meet you. I bought mine without ever sitting or driving one until the test drive, but I've got the "hot rod" version of an 86.5" Porken Chip, X Pipe, RMB, new suspension and the Corvette 6 speed swap all re-done over the last 2 years. It would at least give you an idea of the potential of this model year car with NA power mods that are not going to do anything but drop a few MPG, add tuned up HP and make enough noise to upset the neighbors if you floor it out of the driveway. If you're on FB we have a new group called "928 Owners Middle Tennessee".

I am, particularly, in awe of the skill displayed via the orientation of the screws for retaining the fan shroud.
Zoom in on the cover over the firewall plenum. Look at the HVAC blower.
It doesn’t run because it was on fire.

Paint is awful...but interior looks better than I expected.
Offer would have to be a lot lower than ask..or trade.

Did you buy it? I'm very surprised it brought $23K!!
Anybody see any red flags on this BaT car? Other than possibly close to 200k miles?
