Hopefully Dr Bob will chime in with a much more detailed explanation than I could provide. 😀

Likely it was up on jacks and wasn't driven enough to settle the front suspension before the photos were taken.

I think I read somewhere that there is WSM guidance on adding newer shocks to an OB and how different (shorter) springs need to be used in order to offset the increase in height? Something like that. My ‘78 always looks a bit high as well...

Should be an interesting comp for early restored cars.

What brand is the blue air filter? I've seen it on other early cars. Is it period correct for OBs?

Did you all know that he was going to flip it after doing all that work?

Nate, it's an orange Mahle filter painted blue to phenocopy the original Purolator PM1674 that came on the '78s.

Tom, I didn't know that he was going to flip it, I don't think he knew he was going to flip it. I think the sale is COVID related, but that's just a guess. No biggie, I'm interested to see how she does, kind of cool to have a car running through a Gooding auction, if only in spirit.

I thought it looked odd, because the authentic blue filters do not have the "tab" on the front middle edge like the one on this car has. I have a real Purolator that I got from Jim D. I use it only for shows, then pull it and wrap it until the next special event.

My schedule got a little off kilter as usual, so no I did not. I hope she went to a good home.

I'm not aware of any restored early 928s that have publicly changed hands. So this will be an interesting comp. Unfortunate time to sell it however. I hope it does well and renews a little faith in the market.
