This looks to be a nice candidate for those DIYers looking to enter the world of 928 ownership. '85, 5-speed for only $5,900. Greg Brown did some recent work on the car earlier this year. Needs paint and interior work but looks to be a good mechanical base to start from. Not a lot of running, driving, 5-speed, 32V 928s for less than $6K these days.
Back when I did interiors, I tried to explain to present day owners that the tight crisp fitment of 928 seats you find in today's 928s was the result of SHRINKAGE and POOR CARE, not by design.
I did this until my face was as blue as the exterior color. I can't tell you how many times, customers insisted I was wrong and they and their "buddy was a 928 expert and knows all about 928s" said the leather is supposed to be tight and crisp fitting.
The original design was supposed to be comfortably soft and resemble the leather sofa in your living room which meant it was often loose and had wrinkles. Very much like these seats.

Rob, thanks for that explanation. Did this apply both to the early style seats and the latter S4, GT and GTS seats?
