Started at 8AM to meet up with 3 other local owners. Then went out for the day in the wife's car with the boy. Got home. Mom had problems with her TV-well had to jump into the 928 and make the scenic half-hour drive in 25 minutes. Took the long way home. Just wiped down the windshield of all the bugs whose last sight were my H4 Hellas before sacrificing themselves to the windshield gods...

I was up till 3 last night watching TV and surfing the forums, so I didn't craw out of bed till 10 or so.

After I made coffee I went to the Store and bought 6 more bags of top soil so that I could finish planting my Crap apple tree.
It was poring rain BTW.

After a few more coffees I decided to repair the new/use drivers headlamp that had moisture in it and install the passenger side new/use lamp.

How I repaired it was to wire brush the edge of the glass where the seal is and spray it with clear acrylic sealer

I was thinking of going to see the new movie TED but the wifey backed out so I may see if I can find a bit/file and download it.

Next 928 news, is to remove the pod and replace the connectors and see if the used info display will turn on
and if so ILL slide it into my cluster,
But that may wait till tomorrow as it looks like the steets are drying up

Cleaned all ground points. Fixed ABS harness with left over brake sensors from recent brake job. Cut the two prong connectors off, filed one down since one connector is square and the other is round. Spliced into the old ABS harness and then insert it into the barrel connector from the wheels.
Oil change happens tomorrow before the OCIC trip.

So, do I detect a little more activity in this thread as everyone prepares for the OCIC?

Didn't get as much done on the car as I was hoping to this weekend; too much other stuff competing for my attention.

Did work in:
  • making a prioritized list of stuff to do on the car before the OCIC;
  • an oil/filter change;
  • removing my old, yellowed StonGards over the fog lights;
  • throwing a bunch of parts and notes in a box to hand off to a shop I hope will fix my A/C and coolant leaks; and
  • and a few other minor things not worth mentioning.

Was planning on change the A/T filter and fluid, too, but elected not to after discovering that the radiator is probably leaking; will wait until that issue is resolved (expecting to lose so A/T fluid when disconnecting/reconnecting the A/T cooler lines on the radiator) before doing the A/T stuff.

I'm somewhat discouraged to find more significant coolant leaks than I was expecting.

Worked on a turbo kit install for a customer Until I found a part missing on his car, so...
Timed the cams in my engine,
finished the installation,
borrowed a massive engine hoist,
painted the hoist for a "thank you" to my buddy,
Installed engine in car,
Hooked up most of the accessories & harnesses/fuel system. A good productive weekend.

Default Sprucing up

- Removed the rear seats
- pulled the side panels and replaced the rear seat belt rosettes.
- Pulled the carpet off the rear seat backs (about 44 staples each) and shampooed it, along with the box next to the passenger side seat
- Reinstalled the above
- R&R a failing driver's window switch.
- Fixed an improperly installed clip on the sunroof switch so it is evenly aligned with the other 3 switches.
- Reconnected the wires to the A/C on/off switch
- Ticked off my wife because the switch work took an hour longer than I thought/said it would

Check the flex plate with the PKlamp and no movement since last check - 2 years ago, about 2000 km.

I've been doing 6 am to 2 am prepping my house for some new part time residents...tough transition...
You're making the Nova Scotians proud tending to the apple tree...treat yourself to a Donair..

Ripped the cover off of the Euro like a fit bandage...fired it up..once again failed to build the photo repository for the ebay auction....

Default Thank you Autozone, may I have another (Temp II)

Experienced a warranty replacement failure and got another warranty replacement. Boy they are losing money on this one. Car would not start, flooding in friend's driveway. Had spark so knew with a MM check, yet another Temp II failure one prong showing infinite. Is there anything in the LH/EZK that would burn or otherwise break a temp sensor? Cursed? Hexed? Time to add a spare to the parts bag I carry I guess.

New part in, started without any issues.

I got mine at Autozone (pn SU5817) and as it has a lifetime warranty...free!
This was the second time I've replaced it in 4 years. Seems like too frequent failure mode.

Started at 10 this morning installing 928 Super bearings from Constantine. Once the TT was ready I connected it to the trans, installed both back into the car and mounted the suspension carrier. The carrier bolts still need prepared correctly and torqued but the TT/Trans is back in without any jacks or straps supporting it.
