Installed pistons # 1 and 5, torqued conrod nuts to ~55ftlbs, spun the crank shaft several times to be sure the movement was all smooth... #'s 2 & 7 up next.

A week after OCIC finally removed all the cleaning supplies and such from the hatch and put the mats back in! Got sidetracked by O2 install on the 300ZX Twin Turbo.. man that drivers side one can be a bitch!

Replaced the rear bearings. Did they need replacing
after 34 years? Couldn't hurt.

Sunday drove to return the Sir Tool to Tom The Clairvoyant
(great guys like Tom make this list a community!).

Took my 14 yr old son on the 100 mile round trip.

Got thumbs up on the way down, and on the way back. Ran into
a herd of Ferraris, Lambo's, Ford GT's on the way home and my
son got a big kick as we were riding along with them. Especially
as I hit the loud petal not to be outdone accelerating from the toll booths.

Great day yesterday

Started up the GT today after replacing the timing gears (the news ones from Carl), the crank gear, the oil pump gear, the water pump, the timing belt, Delrin bushings, fixed 14pin connector (broken at two pins), power steering hoses, power steering reservoir, all other hoses)

Malcolm (the flying' Scotsman) to help fire this up - first timing belt for me so I got the benefit of his expert review.

It fired up, noisy lifter due to this job taking a few months (spare time job).

Great day

Cleaned the Leatherique residue of my leather after a soak yesterday and today in +100F heat with the car closed up in the sun. I put a towel over the dash and console to spare them the worst of theUV. Leather is butter soft for another year.

Default Nothing

Nothing much done to the 928 for the past 5 weeks really...first my trip to Seattle and later 3 weeks into the south of France (Aigues Mortes). Towel was won at Porsche quiz some time ago in Naarden (Netherlands) during Porsche Collectors Day

Went to Porsche Finland organized a 2-day track event on the Ahvenisto race circuit ( http://ahvenistoracecircuit.com/ ) yesterday and today 27+28 July 2012. Although I did not participated (can you believe this: I had completely missed taking notice of this event so was far too late for registering ), I counted six (6) 928's today, and at least three (3) were on the track - without blowing anything up

928's in all these photo's:

Installed new aluminum belly pan and got the horn working again. I have a bad rear window wiper motor which kept blowing the fuse and disabling the horn. Adjusted hatch for a quite ride!

Thanks Sean!

I cleaned the CV joints getting them ready for new boots, pulled and cleaned up the rear LCA's and while pressing in new bushings finally found a use for that X-pipe extension

Re-occuring theme: great people and nice car drives!
To top up a perfect relaxing Saturday, the beautiful Finnish summer weather evening was filled with another small get together (cars being: Porsche 996 cabriolet, Boxter, 928 GT and 2 * 928 GTS) and a nice drive including one heck of a twisty road.

Points for those of you who guess the correct paint colour code of the front 928 GTS (and note: the 4th car = 911 Targa near the end unfortunately could not join for the drive):
