Ordered a Water pump off of Pelican. Going to give Roger a call soon for belts and Porken stuff.

Two more months of summer to plan this TB/WP job. I hope this heat wave lowers down. I'll need help from other sharks on this first time

Cleaned the Louvers behind front grill, ordered decals, new clock, towing tool and door sill clips. Also painted cross member in engine bay!!

Update
Fixed rear hatch (did the old shim technique with a piece of milk jug. Installed door sill clips and little piece on hatch release button that was cracked. Plus replaced sunroof switch.

not done, but "doing." Rear wheel bearings. Nice day (100 degrees!!!!!) to do it?!?

Big thanks to Tom "The Clairvoyant" for letting me borrow the bearing puller.

Man that Sir Tool rig is top notch.

And what a great looking 86.5 Tom has!

I am doing a cost analysis on what parts I'm going to need before I pull the engine and clutter the garage.

Cleaned out all the stuff that was sitting between the AC condenser and radiator. Pulled out rocks, pebbles, leaves and bits of what used to be a small hive.

Didn't pull the condenser off but loosened it off the brackets so it can be nudged forward. Took off the auxiliary fan which HAD a bolt on the bottom but I ended up losing it inside the undercarriage compartment and have no idea how to get to it. Going to just buy a new bolt and washer and replace it. The old ones should probably fall out while driving somewhere.

Hopefully she runs cooler now. Ordered a new Thermo and Temp II sensor. Going to install those when they come in next week.

De-cosmolined some pieces - a plastic blade scraper actually works reasonably well against dried cosmoline that is very thick.

At Saturday meet here in DFW saw another 928 with a plastic piece covering the top of the radiator, few quesitons and short drive later and one of the other members took me to his shop and gave me a couple sheets of the same plastic! Played around with it this weekend.

First pic is first rev, fits perfect just the holes for the headlight mechanism and overflow tube for radiator not so pretty.

Second rev below is out of aluminum; much easier to work with. Still have to cutholes for bump stops, hood latch and headlight mechanism arm. As I replaced the vertical nipple for the radiator over flow with a L shapd brass unite from Lowes shouldnt have to cut for it. The aluminum one looks MUCH, MUCH better in person... Going to try and finish up before OCIC...

I did nothing actually to her...as my building is not up yet, and she is still sitting in front of my old house (which I have rented out...I don't really want to impose on my new tenants by wrenching in front of their living room, considering they don't mind me leaving it on jackstands there for a while)

So...I just surfed the web for parts....

Started to take the top end off of the original motor for the rebuild. When I took the oil pan off to look for Rod bearing damage, I couldn't see any block damage. I want to take the heads off and remove the pistons and put in a new head gasket and general new parts including Porkensioner, etc.
