A little earlier this week I removed the tank and the rear bumper to fix this:

It is mostly fixed, but needs coaxing. Also found out that the corner has had previous damage (Bondo anyone?) and needs rust repair under the quarter window and a hole in the rocker panel.

(The white spots are salt from the truck-ride home)

Then, it's time for a new coat of paint!

Yes, 'tis a 1984 S2. One of the previous owners decided it would be fun to drive down mud roads, and the car was just packed with mud underneath. -.- Most likely the reason for all the rust. Luckily they did a lot of the heavy lifting in the past ten years (new WP, hoses, tensioner, rollers, CV boots, etc.) and she runs like a champ, just some electrical issues that need addressing - besides the body.

Well I was replacing a sunroof switch partially because the green wire was busted off and I did not have much luck trying to re-solder it.

Well got the new one in tonight, and just as I was about to snap the switch in, the same ****ing green wire came loose. ****ty *** soldering job I must say, well I re-soldered it and got in and working.

The end of the pod where the switches are has always been a little loose, I assume the PO did something or is this common.

Also this past week:
I got my 17" speedlines on the car, and holly **** is the car smooth now, those old wheels were ****ed up.

Got my passenger seat un-jammed, I had to reverse the polarity on the wires to the motor to get it to go forward as my switch is broken.

Also discovered I have a small power steering leak, I think from the rack, well that's all going to come down when I do the MM and OPG, so I will probably give her re-built lines and get the rack re-built as well.

Tomorrow hopefully I will get my x-pipe installed, or I may just wait until I do the MM and OPG, and just do it all at once.

Did some detail engine cleaning/polishing and cleaned up the insides a bit today. Thinking about doing my motor mounts tonight while enjoying some of Ireland's beverage of choice (made in Belgium).

I can't believe that little adjustment to the Bowden cable made that much difference but it seems like as much as the x-pipe. It makes me think what other small adjustments can increase the power? I would come over and help but the wife wants me to spend time with her.

I washed mine. First time this year the 928 has had a bath. The car spent most of the winter on a battery tender, but I have driven her a couple of times a week the this month. Spring appears to have made an early entrance.

Ha, question is what she did to me today..pissed me off

That hatch misalignment probably is the cause of my lights ON when driving over a bump (ended up disconnecting the switch), and issues with the alarm (which I bypassed).

If I can get it aligned..I am sure I can connect everything back up, not to mention eliminate the water leaks in the rear into the battery box.

I apologized to my 928 as I drove off in a 993...

On the other hand I bought the 928 a new set of plugs to be installed tomorrow and I didn't buy the 993 anything.

I took the S4 out of winter storage......it sarted and ran like I parked it the day before instead of +4 mths ago. Intention was to drive it to the big city (~ 2hrs) but between hooking up the batt, starting, taking it for a short drive then watching F1 quali...it SNOWED!!!

I was not to be out done. Hooked up the trailer to the farm truck, shoveled some snow off the trailer and driveway and loaded the 928. Up to the city, unloaded onto to bare dry pavement and drove it to the nearest car wash. Drove it last night out for dinner and all day today......love SPRING!!!

BTW.....the new Michelin Supersports......not so good on the snow. YIKES!!!
