With spring on the way, fired her up for the first time this year :-)

Then finally fitted the '044' pump that's been sitting on a shelf for almost 2 years with a little help from a 'Murf' fitting kit....

Oh, and also looking for 928 windshield glass with the antenna inside for an '86 928S 32V.
It will cost you less to replace it with a later, non antenna window, then add the antenna to the roof.

Just a thought,

Michael

Yea, I have a later window installed and without the antenna I get quite a bit of static. I don't want to add an antenna on the roof (aesthetic reasons, I like the sleekness of the 928 so I'd prefer her to be fin-less) so I'm on the hunt for original glass. It's not a high priority but I ask around in case I can find one for a good price.

Finally opened my box of new Aero mirrors, and discovered it is a KIT!

Has anyone assembled these monsters before and is there a special sleeve to hold the collars in when putting the base and body together?

Drove 750 miles in our 86. Very smooth ride.

Put my USA 84 5 speed into the hands of good friends who will decide if they will prepare it for a new life on the track. They miight occasionally need advice from many of you to do this efficiently. d

Worked on air intake designing adapters.
Messed with tow hook plug same thing seized.
Might try left handed 3/8" or 7/16" tap and left handed bolt
before drilling it completely out yet.Rather try the bolt incase
if does come out as if bolt breaks can just drill out again
where an extracter would be too hard to drill.

If you need to drill it out - you do know that we have a "tap for that"...? currently doing the rounds: see the tow eye tool thread.

I'd have thought an extractor would just chew up the aluminum plug before it would ever just break off... anyway another option for you - many (5 so far) have used it already successfully.

Drill & Dremmel (carbide tip) then chase the threads out with the tap...

been waiting to post until I got a decent pic to share.

in final stage of completing:
MM
delrin rack bushings
OPG and GTS baffle
tie rod ends and steering rack boots
lower ball joints
shocks
headers w/ dual 2.5" in and single 3" out magnaflow.

final fitting of the fab'ed piping from the headers to the dual in muffler. then just run 3" the rest of the way back.

Pulling out the nasty interior.

Figured out why the passenger seat wouldn't move. There was a set of keys under it.

What do I do with them?

My head hurts.

Found three severed wires in driver door wire harness, Repaired and now keyed entry/closure locks/opens all as it should. While there, did 'cheap fix' with a nylon tie for the window rattle in early phase of opening - works like a charm. Also readjusted tension on inner door handle - now no play and remains flush

Drove to church this morning, made it home about 30 mins before the rains started. Guess I'll dust it off, disconnect the battery, and fit the cover again. Wouldn't life be simple if other things would respond so well to "disconnect my battery, cover and ignore me, reconnect and start as if nothing ever happened"?

Cleaned the aluminijm rear uprights/hubs with a clener basedcon D-limonene. This works remarkably well and smells good too! Now how can I prevent these aluminium parts from oxidizing when they get wet? Any ideas not involving painting in any wy?
