Paid a 90/65 speeding ticket, talked to my next door neighbor who owns a superbee Dodge Charger SRT-8 that has a supercharger that looks exactly like an intake manifold who is awesome and bought me a new BBS centercap for my car that was stolen about a year ago. Not really sure where to go from here!

Ok Ill post a pic for good measure!

Cleaning carpet and floor mats. Washed floor mats in tup and they came out looking great. I almost ordered new mats so I am glad I tried washing first.

Got the '91 GT off the lift,
Finished my 928 adjustable tie rods & showed them off at the 928 GTG.
Pushed the race car around with a Subaru & a spare tire and got it up on the lift & under-cover.
Ported both stainless exhaust manifolds,
Painted the engine bay of the race car,
Ported & Polished both heads off the race car: ready to go to get surfaced.

Default Timing

We had no winter here, but the batt has been unhooked for 2 months. It started right up, so I let her go up to temp in the garage. I really wanted to get it out, but there is a wheel missing. See below.

Sent a wheel in for scratch removal. Sorry no before pic. It has a 1/4 inch strip on outside edge maybe 10" long. A shop in Freeport, NY is doing it, a new center cap (emblem was missing on the old cap, so it had to be replaced); I will update.

Also, I'm going to adjust the timing with Porken's bump stick and ring. It's running fine, but I played with Theo's diagnostic program on the EZK just to see how it works. Measured 2,800 "ignitions". No problems. Will advance the timing a bit and take it out on the road next weekend with a passenger in the seat to run the 'puter.

Cleaning cleaning and more cleaning, and it is still dirty. Makes me miss my '88 that much more.

Would post pics if the member gallery was working.

Ordered the 17in SE Cup 4's.

Drained water from radiator and block. Drained oil. Will be filling these later in the week and will be replacing all the vacuum lines and water lines. Then it should be time to start getting everything buttoned up for the cars first start in 10 years.... =)

Loaded up the wife and two kids and all our luggage and drove two hours to the indoor water park in the Wisconsin Dells for a long (4 day) weekend. Reminded me why I bought this car. What a great highway cruiser, even with 285/30-19's on the back it rode well. Well, that is until I got into the town with the bombed out roads. Then it's slow and careful so I don't bend a wheel.

I removed all of the fuel lines, the fuel tank, the filters, the accumulator, the plenum and runners, the hard lines, and the air box. I cleaned the hell out of the top of the engine, which apparently was used as storage for about 1" of sludge and various bolts and acorns and dirt. It is public school cafeteria clean now, you could almost eat off of it.

I cleaned the airbox and throttle body and fuel distributor, replaced the fuel distributor plunger thingy, cleaned all of the banjo bolts and micro filters. It took four cans of carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle body inside and out. Disgusting condition but looks new now.

I also changed out the green wire (the old one was brown and crumbled upon flex) and changed out some nasty engine grounds.

Tomorrow I will be reinstalling the refreshed fuel lines and fuel tank, then on Friday I should be done (can't work Thursday at all) and will try to crank the bastard up and actually drive it more than around the block. I believe the thorough cleaning and correct routing of my vacuum lines will eliminate the won't run when hot issue I was having; otherwise I'm off to the store for a new WUR.

I also think I found an appropriate hose to replace the airbox-to-aux-air-regulator hose that Porsche discontinued. More as it develops.............Pics soon.

I fixed a rattle I had with the short shifter (before putting her to sleep) by laying some heat resistant foam insulation below the linkages, checked all the fluid levels and woke her up, Started on the second try and purred. Tomorrow I will top up the rear diff (sm leak that I can't find the time to fix even though I have the parts) and have her ready for a quick bath.

Admired Sean's outstanding work on WP/TB and cam timing (using his Porken 32vR tool), while reassembling the front of my engine. All that's left now is adjusting the four belts and then dropping in the fan shroud assembly. Looking forward to getting back on the road!

Pre-cleaning for changing the transmission mounts tomorrow; but turned into 4+ hours of removing cosmoline. Still feel like I haven't even made a dent in it.

Had a GTS postpone a clutch job for a day so I got mine up in the air, fixed my exhaust leak at the X-pipe, checked the derlin rack bushings for fitment and tightness (all good), readjusted a wheel bearing and went for a drive.

Every time I do something to improve this car, it makes me fall in love all over again. Didn't realize how bad the exhaust leak was until it wasn't there anymore.
