I want both cars to be ready for NITT so I don't have to faff around in September when we arrive.
The GT3 will be epic. I've missed driving it and increasingly I think it is the perfect vehicle for our NZ adventures.....
If you need any help to run it in....

Attempting a detailed restoration in my previous experience requires an innate knowledge of what it was to start with.

Unfortunately the genuine magnesium wheels if badly bent cannot be easily/safely repaired (magnesium is very difficult to weld). It would be worth purchasing that single front wheel Doug posted to make the set whole. Sam has one of the most original full sets Ive seen and IMO will want to sell the whole set to a collector (they will no doubt go offshore to Germany or UK). If your mate is serious, depending on teh condition of what he has purchased could be worth purchasing Sams and selling off his set etc...

Just a few ideas. You can really only justify doing something like this once and at the cost of teh parts best to do it properly...
*cousin,

yes, i spoke to him, he is pretty interested., i know the issue with magnesium wheels, you would not be the first to tell me, unfortunately i wont know the full damage until they arrive in the container, with the rest of the brand new bits n pieces for the car.

yes, I can 110% confirm the car is a Genuine 964RS! and yes, like every single project I've ever done, it will be done properly the first time.!

I'll get around to snapping some more photos for you guys to check out, or, if you happen to be in hamilton, flick me a PM, i have no issues with showing you guys the car.

cheers

I have a couple of good SLRs but just took my point and shoot for this. Should have under exposed them.

Hi mate. Sounds great. I'm in country for 16-26. Ron is looking into a run on Sun 20. Would love to do a good hard run on sat 19. Possible even to combine the two. Have plenty of driving as have to also give the 993 it's head after gb & diff rebuild. I'm also good anytime during the week for those not doing the 9-5 grind. Doug I'll let you cook up some ideas- you are the tour miester!

Big congrats John. Both these things had to happen today. Now you are officially a fast driver. Boxing gloves are off! Like the muddy 4wd!

How did you go against the 997?

I see Doug has identified a possible infringement? Ids going to get interesting when you both go up against each other !
