Thanks Matt, good lead. What are you using on the SITT?

Matt, are you still considering doing the North Island Targa in May?

Haven't decided on tyres yet, got some calls in for prices and options but it feels like some of these places aren't interested in selling you 2-4k of tyres and don't return calls?! Hyper told me AD08Rs aren't available in my sizes until June/July. Probably going to run a brand new set of Z221s at this stage.

I'd love to do the NI Targa but I don't think it's possible financially so close to the SITT. Maybe the SI Targa later in the year, will have to see closer to the time.

On another note, I've got the Durametric Pro kit from Jake now (thanks again for bringing it back from the US!) and will have it and a laptop with me on the SITT, so can pull/clear codes, get live engine readings, and code options for a small fee to cover costs. Includes a round adapter for the pre-95 cars but John might have those covered with his setup anyway.

Matt,

My Scantool can definitely cater for 964s, except the C4 functions needed to properly bleed the hydraulics.

I think it also has the latent ability to do 993s, but I have not explored that functionality.

Carrera GT with no muffler. Fascinating to listen to the noise reduction when the secondary air injection kicks in.

Uploaded incorrectly. Will fix tonight.

Chris B, you could always try Toyo 888 - they are a very good road/track combo tire and I bit harder than 221's.

I stopped in today to check on progress:

993 is looking better at non-tractor ride height.

RS + 10mm still looks a bit high, tempted to drop the +10 and find another 5 while they are at it, but was told off, and instructed to give it a try first.

Ive tried everything from RS -5mm to RS + 5mm (where I am now) plus +10,+15

The issues I had with -5mm was bump steer. Not noticeable at 7/10ths but there after became noticeable and no doubt more if I had have been on track. Now have the RS front uprights and tie rods so this isnt an issue. At +5mm currently but will explore -5mm again in the future. Only issue I will say with -5mm is that I had to abandon a few driveways at friends places as they were too agressive with no ability due to narrowness and curbs to attempt a side approach.

17" wheels may also make it look less aggressive than it is and also the addition of negative camber will make it look different again...

The suspension will settle a bit. And the lower you go the more bits you have to replace to keep the handling predictable.

One nice side benefit Paul of slamming the car as low as you can go it that it will be less of a step up for your family to get into mate when you use the 993 as a family car as originally intended.....;-P

The road compound Sumitomo HTRZIIIs ran well for me on Sunday and should have enough life left for 500kms of special stages in the May tour. If competing I'd run r-comps. Anyone else want to petition MSNZ to accept the same top-end FIA approved bolt in cages that Porsche teams like Manthey run in the Nurburgring 24 hour race?

My last Sumis did finish up with 2 big internal bubbles inside the rears but an Ardmore gymkhana and Hampton spin may have helped those develop.

Can you fit a booster seat and a cage in the back of a 993? One of them will have to go!

Got a link to the petition?

The surface at the Ardmore gymkhana sounded really tough on tyres, kind of glad I missed that one.

He's probably got a better idea as he's been running R-comps a while and I'm only picking mine up today.
thanks Walter..

The challenge here is that when you adjust them back to something like 32 and 38 you end up with very low pressures when they cool down, so ideally you get to a service station on the way home when they are cooling down and add a bit of air back in.
Cheers Chris and John..that will be the plan then..

Nah - just tie the little monkeys to the cage.

Rob Hoe had 3 girls behind his cage (but that's another story)

Mine are toddlers and not in their early twenties........
