Not as worried about the caliper seals as they are easy to service but not as keen to have ABS seals in the 996T needing replacing. Has anyone here - had trouble with seals after running SRF for a good period?
Picked up the 996TT this morning and took the opportunity to ask Dean about SRF. He said they'd had no issues and it was a factory fill on the 996 Cup Cars. Anyway, the fill is evidently less for a 996, one litre charged for, so in the scheme of things it was a relatively minor part of the bill. Roll on Saturday. Still an outside chance that the C4 might make it, but putting no pressure on the boys.

You and Peter will be going head to head, in a Rennsport Gruppe way, with those two things taken care of.

As for me, I am almost certain to bring the C4. It's been another week of discovery. I've had to replace both the hydraulic accumulator (bomb) and pressure switch. I sourced the bomb from my pile of ex Trademe spares and the pressure switch from the Turbo 3.6.

The symptoms were found at the track. I got pressure alerts on turn 8 and the 4wd alert half way through session 3. Basically the pressure switch wasn't allowing the pressure to be correctly controlled and the bomb wasn't holding what pressure there was, well enough.

The sole remaining problem is the clutch engagement point, but it's drivable. I'm very keen to keep running her in and use the AIM.

I would like to go head to head with Pete - always fun chasing a car of similar speed, but still running an engine in and have new tires to scrub in.

The track tires should take me from 1.25's on road tires last weekend down to 1.22's but not sure I will see 1.20's to compete with Pete??

A sunny day and Sat avo will tell I guess..........

So in summary, Peter had better watch his mirrors unless it's wet and the 4wd keeps you at bay?

If its wet then the track tyres will probably be the wrong choice for either car. It feels like ages since the PCNZ DE so I'll just be trying to re-learn what I've forgotten since then.

And I'll only be driving half the sessions as I have Tony my co-driver in for the day as well (and he's more cautious than me!!)

John. Question came up on the committee last night re RSG members. Are you with Prestigio on track for both the 996TT & 964? We are trying to figure how many with Presigio....

My wife's Golf took all four road wheels and the Techart tail in one go. I tried the Fuchs in the 996 TT and only managed three wheels, so I doubt the 964 will do any better. I guess we have to make a decision on the morning and stick with it, if I can be bothered changing four wheels. In fact if its raining I'll take the easy route and take the 996 TT

The long range weather forecast for tomorrow is sunny spells - put the track tires on as it needs to be raining for road tires to be of benefit (i.e. you would have your wind screen wipers on) On a wet or damp track a dry line appears very quickly.
