I believe the Turbo here has the real deal. The green car is photoshopped and the other car has 3 piece after market wheels. Still it increases the anticipation. I hope to have my car ready for the 8/6 gymkhana.

John just be careful if you fix your seats in position and take it to VTNZ. The muppets there will not give you a warrant and will want a low volume certificate as the car will now be "modified". Happened to me, really peeved me off. I had the same problem with height which is why I went fixed position, Racetech 4009 seat from Chicane, Shane is a good bloke to deal with. I still have a seat, mounting brackets and 5 point Sabelt harness if you, or anyone else for that matter, want to try it, however, as I am skinny, it is the normal size seat, most people go for the "wide". All the above is in Auckland. Cheers, Craig.

IMO not worth fixing a seat unless its for a serious racer and its a safety consideration. Even then it's a pain climbing in through the cage unless you also have a detachable wheel to give more room. definitely more secure though especially if mounted off cage pipes side sill to tunnel.

Nik. Interesting stuff. I have all this ins the LeMans Sport books from 1996/7. Also so material/book printed especially for the team after the LeMans assault. All makes interesting reading. I did think there were two cars but Im still unsure if the silver car in your video ended up being converted by Parr Motorsport in the UK. I do know that the other NZ "road" GT2 did get converted and never made it here.
Erik Waanders & Greg Clarke provided me all the official 993 import numbers in 2011 and Ive just looked at that - shows only one "official" 993 GT2 was actually landed in NZ in 1996.

Sorry Nik. I should have said it was classified as MY1996. Which means anything manufactured after August 1995. The actually landed date isn't recorded in the spreadsheet they sent me. I assumed date of arrival in country but its actually classified into official Porsche model years.
Its very interesting it was registered in August 1996 as that makes it an August production car (maybe even July) which is damn early (given its at least 6 weeks from build date to landing in NZ). It must have been one of the first cars produced. Looks like it came in with some small mileage on it so it could have been an ex UK show car. If you have a look at Earls Court footage for the era and see if there is a polar silver RHD GT3 as the show car this could answer the question. Colin was pretty good at pulling off unusual cars like this early (like the protos we know about here).
