Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

I haven't found 104 Avgas makes any more noticeable power in the 993 as my car is tuned for 98 and runs no knock sensors. Anything with more than 98 octane is likely wasted although it will allow the engine to run a little cooler. It does however feel like its running a bit better on the track but I attribute that mostly to placebo effect. 10 years ago you could buy it from the pump on the main road Kumeu, so I occasionally blended it. To go a bit faster on track I suggest chasing Dougie on his Z221s will be the prescribed remedy ;-)

I'm hoping that Doug's Z221s are nicely heat cycled from the SITT. Even if that is the case it will be good to have a luftgekuhlt battle with him, Pel, Jason, Sam etc.

It kills cats. No idea on o2 sensors I never had them on the 993 (option M150 engine).
Yes Id imagine Dougs Z221s have seen their fastest days already if they are the ones he had on the SITT. Im sure you could finish them off John with a heat gun in the pits when he isnt looking...

3 of Doug's tyres are ex SITT. The other one is a spare I gave him. I actually don't think they will be too degraded, particularly as the track day is in the colder months. It will be interesting to see how competitive I am with Hermans problems all sorted now (fingers crossed). The lambda is good, I have two coils and the resonance flap working plus a cat delete. I'm looking at putting 993 coils in but that can wait until after the day. Dave might be a dark horse in the T and I imagine Pel is keen to slay a 964. All good stuff. I like Taupo. The Z221s will help in the infield and the extra power will take me down the straights. I'm. Hoping that's where the others will be kept at bay. If it rains I'll walk over the lot albeit I'd prefer a dry day.

Would have a bit more confidence at HD, Taupo I'm not so sure, considering taking the 930, having a kick up the **** on the long straight. Wondering weather to run 15" 205/225 rubber from the SC or use the 16" 225/245 Toyo road tyres currently fitted

Taupo is quite open in the midfield but still has a few danger spots, particularly in the wet. The Turbo would be fun up the straights (assuming you can stop for the corners), but I imagine the SC would be quicker (remember I had a Turbo 3.6). I suppose it depends what you're looking to get out of the day. I expect to spend the day being hunted so I'm going out with a full deck.

Doug, despite the events of 3/8/14 I still think we would both say we'll take roadies but turn up on slicks...
I will fall out of my chair if an RSG member ever says, "John, despite the fact that my car has superior performance and I was driving my absolute best I was unable to keep up with you".
So let the fighting talk continue.
