Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
John. Did you have the car set up for geo with 100kg driver weight factored? It could be that the static camber is less on the RHS of car but loaded comes in closer to target values? Could explain the castor settings on that side too?
The first is a third of a degree difference in camber (and produces camber thrust that's approximately equivalent to a 1/30th of a degree of steering input to the right), while misreading it as decimals would imply almost two thirds of a degree of difference.
For the other measurements you're right in that any misinterpretation works the other way as they don't span a degree unit.
I should have phrased it more specifically - the front camber of L: 1°09', R: 50' looks a lot worse if it is instead misread as being L: 1.09, R: .50.

Still begs question why more rear camber than front (marginally) when factory spec for 964/994 RS - Cup - RSR + always assumes higher front camber values front to rear? I just had my 993 put on track settings and Z221 (track days 11+14). -3.15F+-2.50R! Forgot how dramatically that and the Z221 affect the ride on the road! Next time around will max -2.5F+-2.0R - that's plenty for a non race track car one should think!

Macca. Yes the nano-sealants like Quartz and opti-coat have come a long way the last couple of years. I met Stephan and had a quote for some work in the frunk. $2k for a little surface rust and straightening and refinishing the frunk floor. Obviously a perfectionist but unfortunately a bit rich an unnecessary I thought. I should have pressed for a quote for just the surface rust repair so I blame myself and have no ill feeling toward Haslers. I have an alternative which will proceed with post festival.
Did you ever find some alternative storage space for your cars? I remember last year you were in need of a change. My brother in law has a couple of cars he needs to find more permanent storage for and obviously the economies of scale encourage some form of share arrangement

WAAAAY too much. Luke paid less for it 16 months ago!
I spoke about the car with Stefan and Dean. Gearbox casing (confirmed damaged) would mean a complete new box. You could pick up a rough used one for 6K but would need t rebuild it while in there for $5-6K to ensure its fresh. You could part out some of the gearsets from the original box and pull in maybe 3-4K. Rear subframe is a bear. Even a old used one will be over 2K. New Rear drive shaft maybe $1200. No idea on condition of hubs, calipers, bearings. Assume best to replace some while in there.
Rear quarter panel is tricky. New panel is $$$ but lots of labour to get it right. Stefan cringed at that one. Rear bumper skin is $2500+GST plus paint and then you may need to do some work on rear chassis rail. All I talked t were concerned that getting the rear mounting points back t factory would mean having it on the Cellette - if they are out the car will never drive true.
We havent even mentioned the front damaged or the unknown let alone the paint and labour.
Put it this way. If you bought it to have someone else do the work even sourcing the parts yourself from offshore I doubt it would we you much under 100K finished. It would still be a 175K engine.
If you did all the work yourself aka John M style (you would still need specialist help for chassis alignment, panel and paint etc) then it could owe you 85K.
Actually makes the 100K paid for Pauls ex 993 seem a deal.
Sign the market has now entered silly territory. Im sure there will be a correction in the future. Its musical chairs here in s just make sure you have your bum near a seat when the needle is lifted from the vinyl?

I have grown to really like the stone chip Patina on the front of the car. No one looks at that car and has any doubts its been working for a living. My only regret is i didn't pull the plastic off sooner so the patina was even! Now it looks a bit odd which is why Im trying to get it back closer t even with some of the bigger chips filled and a big machine polish. I need a 5 day Targa Tour to even up the rash!
Is this Haslars or OCD?
Don't mean to start a pricing discussion but will a correction really happen? Only happens when there's a need to sell combined with too much stock.
You would assume most decent air cooled cars sit with owners who can afford to keep them.
