Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Id say you are about spot on here John, with the exception of the Tipo conversion. A decent G50/64 gearbox (overhauled as youd be made to put an unknown one in) could run 10K on its own. From talking with Dean its a bitch of a job. Steves done it but with in house resources. Pedal box, controllers etc and labour I think realistically you would be talking 18K or else overseas in markets like UK they would be a popular modification but yet I dont read nor hear about them...
It would be around 20k. Some rennlisters in the states and canada have completed it and happy with the result. Their mechanics spent 20-30 hours to complete it. Below is the list of parts required for the conversion (from their invoice, so could be more not shown)

It could make sense if you find the colour and spec C2 you really like. I guess once you commit to that kind of investment then you need to make sure all the other mechanicals will see you through as a 20k engine rebuild could be around the corner too. On the plus side you know the condition of the mechanicals going into the car..

There was an S2 & Turbo on autotrader a couple of weeks back, may still be there?

Loved my day at the track, especially with some newbie 964s that even I was able to use as road cones. Also Neil kindly let me take his 944 race car out and I absolutely loved it. I have a rash all over.

Plus the 964 pulled like a teenager and performed floorlessly. Had a few comments about the exhaust note going into turn 1. Sounds great with the secondary bypass vs the old setup with the primary bypass. Chose Dunlop RE-11s for today as it looked like we could get rain but it was only wet at the start and light showers as our air cooled group came in on two occasions (brilliant timing). Wish I'd had the R888s however, it was fun squirming and squeezing through the corners and, given the forecast was the fair choice.
I tested johns Steve Wong chip and control unit vs my stock one and couldn't tell any difference. Not very scientific as I wasn't timing myself but honestly could not tell any difference so I'll save myself (now) $700-800 for the SW chip upgrade and stick with stock. Maybe could get one when someone goes to the states and can save the GST. Our exchange rate sure adds a lead weight to importing upgrade bits and pieces.
Was recently contemplating selling the NZ new 964 C2 manual (heh, this may get some comments) but I'm back in love with Lola and thinking I may even take her on the SITT for old time sake now that John will be in Herman. Even Dave was saying he should never have sold her. Need to remember that when I have a weak moment and are frustrated with the lack of space with 3 cars crammed into the garage.

Ha ha, never noticed that. Not in the slightest bit of nervousness (apart from the potential of doing a Michael) but I may have been quite excited at the end of the run. I didn't want to take the risk then remembered how long dead we all are and no regrets. She's so much fun. Nothing between you and the road (steering, feel), noisy beautiful exhaust note, amazing turn in, rough, light, raunchy, agricultural, and fast.

Yeah, thanks Paul, that was a very good day. All my runs were dry except one. Nice to see the GT3 race. The SC was a blast, but a lesson for me in car prep. Brake pedal went to the floor at the hairpin so just very lucky it wasn't on turn one because it was fine at turn two but then no one home and pumping like hell to get something. Dan to the rescue and back on for the next session.

Today was fantastic. I'd been a little pessimistic about it due to the forecast, but once it dried out the track was great. Thanks again for organising.

haha Dougie It's not until you have a decent strop in a race car that you realize how big the difference can be - fit for purpose. You better stop spending anything on the road cars until you figure this out
