Brushed red HRE's would look stunning on a white Cayman.

Forgeline make some nice wheels as well, and they're reasonably priced for forged (pretty sure the OZ's are cast?).

I think I will go with the OZ wheels. I never regretted buying the new Fuchs and I look after my stuff. Any thoughts on the colour for the OZ wheels?

996 GT3 for sale in Aus for a lower than usual price, assume it has something to do with lack of road registration?

Must be a big area for $17K? Don't use the Louvretec brand, use the clone products as they are cheaper.

Just sell the Cayman R to Pete to fund it? There should be enough left for those stack sliders.............

House reno's seriously make our car hobby look cheap..........

PSS 10's easier to adjust, you don't need long alen keys through the engine bay. Matt G analysed this - he can give the pro's and con's of each.

993 guys tend to go for PSS 10's.

Correct - there are a few GT3 road cars in Aus for sale that can't be road registered. The problem with these cars is that you can buy a cup car for $50-60K in Aus, not sure why you would bother with a road car verson when they have same limitations??

^^^ Same car for $55K?

I see on the Aussie Pcar forums that GT3's are going through roof as there are none for sale. They say they are going to the UK (which I kinda query?)

They seem to have climbed in value buy around 20-30% over the last 3-6 months.

6.85m long by 1.25m wide, so 8.5m2, however the orientation means that lots of 1.25m blades not smaller numbers of long ones. Thinking of custom shadesail instead. It's only to keep visitors from being fried in the Summer sun, so not worth that much to me.

Best value reno by far is skylights. Three opening skylights installed by one person in one day, including framing out with gib for $4.5k. Skylights are double glazed with blinds. I have to do the stopping and finishing, but these are hands down worth every cent.

As for the R, you know the story, I change my mind every 5 minutes. I was close to selling, but the clear track day showed its potential and proved the desire to keep up with the kettles is stronger than l thought. Z221s and some pagid pads should help with the cornering and get me well under 1.20. Nothing else to do, as it comes the way I want it from the factory.

What I cant understand is how you can buy a RHD road GT3 in Australaia for 55-68K AUD.

Thats cheap!

Why dont guys on here wanting 996 GT3 buy some of these "non registerable"

It's all relative Pel. I like the factory track focused build and that glorious engine, but a poor cheap example will likely end up as a poor expensive example if you use it as intended. I almost pulled the trigger on that car when it was $50k, but the untimely death of the owner and Steve's advice stopped me. I think it would have been a money pit.

BTW: For those of you looking for NZ track driving insights email Mike Eady at bmw@tracktime.co.nz to buy a PDF copy of his Manual. $25 well spent.
